Question about Casio EXILIM EX-Z250BK 9.1 MP 4X OPTICAL ZOOM Digital Camera

Open Question

My Casio Exilim EX-Z250 will not switch on, it worked perfectly one day, and the following day it just will not power up at all. Obviously I have charged the battery fully to no avail...it just seems dead!

Even casio seem confused by this question! It seems that the camera will loose it's settings if the battery is dead or the camera is not connected via USB. Even if the battery is charged it could loose the settings within 24hrs. You can get the manual below: http://world.casio.com/qv/download/en/manual/

You don't. That is something that Casio will have to fix. Call 18007062534 and choose option 2. Tell them you have a stabilizer error and they will tell you how to go about sending it in.

SOURCE: Casio Exilim EX-Z850 Red Light Flashing

I have been having this same problem. It doesn't happen everytime, but there have been a number of occasions when my Exilim Z850 would display a blinking red light and refuse to take pictures. I thought it was a battery issue, so I tried buying a new battery, eventhough I observed this problem soon after the camera was newly purchased. The new battery didn't help resolve the issue. So I do hope someone out there has figured out what's wrong and will let us know.

SOURCE: not turning on.

I have the same problem, I rang Casio and they are sending me a replacement battery. Apparently they have had problems with the NP 20 battery and have assured me that the lifespan of a battery should be more than a year and that the new one should be fine.

Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

You neglected to specify the type of memory card, so I'm going to assume it's an SD or SDHC card.

Casio exilim ex-80 always shows SD card as locked

the SD card should have a small switch on the upper left side it slides from lock to unlock if this doesnt work Look in the card slot - there may be a small bit of plastic sticking out over where the card's locking switch would fit when the card's inserted.

My casio EX-Z250 as been accidently dropped onto a soft floor from a small height this as caused the camera to disable itself and will not turn on but the lens as stayed out. I hope you can help....

Sounds like the lens could have been slightly tweaked, making it out of alignment just enough to not fully retract. You can try to GENTLY push it in the opposite direction to see if you can "reseat" it. If not, a service center is probably your best bet at this point...

Casio Exilim EX-Z60 won't turn on

This happened to me too, fiddle with the lens as its obviously stuck. Don't be too rough but try to figure out if it is slightly bent.

You will only be able to this if the lens is sticking out a little, enough to get a grip.

Good luck
