Go to to run then type in services.msc then press enter then you can see all services of windows. Find fax service then right click on it then click on property then click on logon then make sure check box of local system account is enabled. if still same issue then you need to reinstall fax service of windows and reinstall all driver first uninstall old driver then reinstall then it will work again. You can reinstall windows fax service from start->control panel->add remove program->Add remove windows components. Then uninstall then reinstall . Also make sure usb cable connect to fax is working fine.Try in different usb ports of computer.Uninstall all usb drivers from device manager then it automatic install all usb drivers.
