I have just bought a G560. It is shipped with windows 7 installed but without windows 7 installation DVD? I was told the installation exists in a separate partition and that I can burn a DVD from this partition. How do I do that?

You will need to download or purchase a piece of DVD burning software.

An excellent free version is called ImgBurn which you can download here-
http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download

you will then need to place a blank DVD into your DVD drive, locate the partition where your Windows installation exists (probably E drive) and then load ImgBurn and follow the on-screen instructions to create a burnable image from the partition and then run the image.

Hi I have A Medianpc the system model is a AWRDACPI X86-Based P.C. Do I have to update my bios to install windows 7.If so please could you advise me.

Hey, no you dont need to update BIOS to install Windows 7 but i would recommend doing it anyway. Its always good practice to have latest version of drivers and firmware as they usually fix bugs in existing in older versions as well improve performance.

As for your CDs i would look at the Optical drive you have and perhaps use another computer to copy the Windows 7 to bootable USB drive and use that to install Windows 7.

Hope this helps.

Password lockout .i bought it second hand . cannot get refund. can i install windows 7 without password?

Hi Howie,Absolutely you can install Windows 7 without the password. What you're going to need to do is get a copy of the Windows 7 install CD. Put that in your CD/DVD Drive and then restart you're computer. While you're computer is turning on, press F12 to access the boot menu. Select the CD/DVD drive, and then you should see a message saying "press any key continue...". Press any key on the keyboard. You can then follow the on-screen instruction to reinstall Windows from scratch! If you need any more assistance, please feel free to ask.Alex

RES.SIR, PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO ADD(INSTALL) THE MISSING FILES OF OPERATING SYSTEM TO RUN WINDOWS PROPERLY,WITHOUT FORMATTING CONCERN DRIVE.PLS PROVIDE THE PROPER PROCEDER. THANK YOU.

Hi

Use the OPERATING SYSTEM CD/DVD to run the REPAIR MODE.

REPAIRING THE OPERATING SYSTEM just load or install corrupted or missing files from your operating system thus will not delete any of your files from your computer.

Please rate and make a comment if you find this solution very helpful and might help others as well. Post more comments if you need more help.

Regards and thank you for using Fixya !

I have successfully installed camera driver in my G560 laptop but i m not able to start the web cam, so how can i start it??

Are you using Windows 7? If you are using windows 7, Follow these steps:
Maybe, It doesn't work because the driver you installed is for other versions of operating system. Before you install any program in a windows 7 Operating System Computer, Use "troubleshoot compatibility". Right Click the Icon of your program installer then choose "troubleshoot compatiblity". It will allow you to choose what type operating system your program will run. Just reply back if it still doesn't work.

DVD writing isn't possible in Windows XP without additional software such as Nero.

Do you have another DVD writing program installed in your computer?

You should re-install the winxp again. For doing it without losing any existing data, do it as per the following instructions: - Boot your computer using the XP CD. You may need to change the boot order in the system BIOS so the CD boots before the hard drive. When you see the welcom setup screen, chose the "To setup Windows XP now, press ENTER" option. DO not choose "To repair a Windows XP installation using the Recovery Console, press R" !!!! Accept the License Agreement and Windows will search for existing Windows installations. Select the XP installation you want to repair from the list and press R to start the repair. Setup will copy files to the hard drive will reboot tour computer and will start winxp installation. Good luck !
