Question about Kodak i1220 Pass-Through Scanner
They are different.
A flatbed scanner works like the usual scanners you see - you put a document on a flat surface area and have it covered. Canon Lide is an example.
A pass through scanner works like the usual fax machine system wherein you will have the document to be scanned feed, and as it passes though the imaging part of the machine, it's digital copy is generated.
There are machines that works as both - Brother 185c and Samsung SCX4521F are examples of both flatbed and pass through scanners.
