Question about Fisher and Paykel Fisher & Paykel Washer
It does mean a thing and it is fault code 62 which means a pump over-current fault. The pump motor is drawing excessive current most likely due to a short circuit. Do not run the machine until the pump is replaced; otherwise you will damage the Motor Controller Module and will cost you further repairs. You can purchase a replacement for the pump here. Select the model of your washer then the drain pump.
Unplug the machine, drain the water from the tub then lay the washer on its back on protective material. Ensure that the washer is slightly raised at the top to prevent residual water in the tub from spilling out. Remove the base panel by easing the tabs, located at each corner, with long nosed pliers, then pry the panel off using a flat bladed screwdriver.
Disconnect the pump connections. Turn it towards the front of washer until the pump retaining clip prevents further turning, then release the pump retaining clip by pulling it away from the pump.
Turn it further until the pump disengages. Make sure catch residual water in the pump sump that will spill out when the pump is removed. Install the new pump in reverse order of the removal steps.
