Hi,

Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display.

* Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked.

* Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running.

* Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects.

* If the above does not correct the problem, replace the pump.

Thank you !!

Error 5100... printer MP145

This is a carriage error. Look at where the ink cartridges clip into. that is the carriage. Behind the carriage is a long thin greyish piece of plastic call the encoder strip. Its is the width of the machine. It may have some grease or dirt on it. Clean it with a cotton bud soaked in soapy water. Be carefull as the strip is very delicate. You can unplug the machine when the carriage is in the centre of its travel. with no power you can push the carriage either way to get behind it.

Good luck.

How do I clear a carriage jam error on a Dell 942 all in one printer?I changed both ink cartridges and the carriage moved and let out a scratching sound and the error msg, clear carriage jam came up on the...

Carriage jam errors usually mean something is blocking the carriage from moving. It's usually a crumpled piece of paper left over from clearing a jam, or a faulty purge unit/capping assembly.

You should check to see if the printhead is locked or movable when you power off the unit. If it will move freely when it should be locked then something is blocking it from moving into the "home" position. If there is no foreign object inside then the capping mechanism in the wiper or purge unit may be broken or jammed. Oft times a good disassembly and bath for the purge unit will get it working again. However, this depends on how technically skilled you are and how much the machine is worth. It would take at least an hour in a shop. If you don't do it yourself and the machine is worth less than $100, it may be time to replace the machine.

My 7310 indicates a carriage jam. I've cleared all paper and verified no loose paper, dust etc is present and it still reads carriage jam. What should I do?

Inside your printer the ink cartridges ride in the carriage. If you look closely, there is a plastic strip just behind the carriage with closely spaced little lines on it. If the strip gets dirty with dust or ink, you may get that error. Gently clean the entire strip with a rag moistened with water. be sure the entire strip is clean. Move the carriage back and forth to get at all of it. Then see if that doesn't work.

Printer error - see manual

Without seeing for myself this is hard to diagnose. The most common reason for this error is that something is preventing the ink carriage from travelling the full length. Open the scanner unit and check that the carriage lid is fully closed, check along the carriage path for any loose objects. Turn the printer on with the scanner part open and see if it moves across at all or if there are any unusual noises. If it does move then remove the power cable while it is across to the left and check the small white gears where the carriage normally parks for any loose parts or objects which may jam the gears. If the carriage does not move then something is preventing the parking lock from unlocking and you will need a technician to look at it.

Hope this helps, good luck.

Error E-90

error E-90 means that something is stopping the ink carriage from moving its full extent. Open the scanner and check that the ink carriage lid is firmly locked down, check along the path of the carriage for any foreign/loose objects. Use an alcohol wipe or similar & gently wipe the plastic registration strip that goes through the top rear of the ink carriage. Be careful not to dislodge or damage it. If the carriage moves when you switch it on, pull out the power cable when it is across to the left and check for loose gears or foreign objects in the gears on R/H side. Hope this helps.

My printer is a hp6210 and the error I am getting is carriage jam, open door clear carriage and press ok

The carriage is what holds the ink cartridges. If you open that and make sure that there is nothing that is blocking the carriage from moving. If there is remove it. If the machine is powered off you should be able to slide the carriage by hand back and forth along the metal shaft that it rides on. If it feels like it is sticking you can wipe the shaft off with a clean lint free cloth. DO NOT add and oil to the shaft. Power the machine back on and it should work. If it still errors out you will probably have to bring it to a repair place.
Hope this helps
