SOURCE: Canon DR-3080cii paperjam

The 3 paper sensors are located along the center of the paper path. They are: Registration (lever type) on the bottom between separation & registration. Look for lever damage or torn paper. Scan Start (reflective) on the top between registration & front reading roller. Clean the sensor window with qtip & alcohol. Delivery (lever) at the eject roller. Same as reg, but harder to see due to location. The feed roller exchange kit is 6915A001. The rollers in this machine are not considered user replaceable.

Ativa shredder X1800 - shredder does not respond. green light present. Reverse works fine. I killed it with too much shredded paper.

Unplug it. Lift the shredder unit off the catch-bucket. Remove any paper caught in the blades. You may need needle-nose pliers to pull jammed paper out from between the cutters.

I placed less than 12 sheets of paper in the ativa 1250 shredder. it's reading overload. can you help?

The problem seems to be the plastic gears and/or bearing supports. Unless it is in warranty, it's going to cost you more to repair than replace, and even then Ativa's customer service is not the best and neither are their shredders: I suggest you look at http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/ativa-paper-shredder-c31646.html?page=2

The shredding mechanism may be jammed with debris. With power removed, access the mechanism and use suitable tools to pick out every shred of paper. I have found tweezers and a utility knife to be useful. This is a time-consuming routine, but necessary to restore proper operation.

Ativa HS1000 (Vortex) - the red light indicating that the shredder tray is full is on, however it's empty. There is clearly a piece of paper stuck in the shredder, but it's not letting me reverse...

Disconnect from the electricity. Remove the bin. Flip the shredder upside down. Brush the blades to loosen/remove any cut paper. Then using a thin plier remove any jammed pieces of paper.

Well, despite the manufacters warning label I choose to take the shredder apart and found that one of the plastic gears was broken. Hence the motor runs, but the blades do not turn. The thing I didn't understand, the there are metal gears and plasic gears...I can only imagine that the plastic gears at one point or another are going to give. I would suggest not to void the manufacters warrenty, take the shredder back, and get one that is built a little stronger. Hope that helps.
