If u took the bed off to change the fuel pump make sure u hook the ground back up to the frame the ground should be on the driver side behind the tank,u need to change the fuel pump relay when u change a fuel pump because it could be bad to cause the first pump to quit working. not the right amount of volts or to much volts, the relay is under the hood in the fuse box,

93 Ford Ranger 2.3L manual running fine. Engine suddenly bogged down and died. Engine turns over, but won't start. Acts like it is not getting fuel. When you turn key you can hear fuel pump prime.

Just because you can hear the pump run, doesn't mean it is supplying enough fuel to properly operate the injectors. You need to check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail. If you have at least 45# of fuel pressure at the rail, you need to make sure that the injectors are metering. If memory serves me, I believe they are fired by the pickup in the distributor, but 93 is right when they were phasing into DIS ignition.

Will the anti theft stop a 2001 ford ranger from getting fire to fuel pump

Have you checked the fuel pump cutoff switch? Do that first, make sure the red button is seated into the switch, if it is tripped it will click when you push the switch. Also you're aware the pump only runs when the key is held to the engine crank position and of course when the engine is running, with the key just turned on the pump will not have power.

I have a 93 Ford F150 4.9 liter. And when I go to start it the fuel pump stays running for close to four minutes and then it will not start until the fuel pump shuts off?

OK, when you turn the key to on, it will start the pump for about 2 seconds-this is just to put pressure in the lines and in the fuel rail for easy starting. If key is not turned to start, pump will shut off after 2 seconds. But when cranking in start, and when engine is running, the pump is on full time.
If your pump runs longer than 2 seconds with key only in on position, you have a fuel circuit problem. It very well could be a bad fuel pump relay staying on. Or it could be a computer problem signaling the relay to stay on longer. Try a new fuel pump relay first and see if that was the problem.

I have an 86 ford ranger 4x4 with a 2.9 v6 my problem started when i went to the store came out and my fuel pump wouldnt work after i turned the key on and off a few times it worked now when i went down to...

Check your battery, especially if it is older. Had same problem with 2007 Ranger.
It seems that there may be enough power in the battery to turn on daytime running lights, instrument cluster etc., and turn the engine over, but during all that, there may not be enough power left to adequately power the fuel pump.
After replacing a 9 year old battery, I had no more problems with my fuel pump (almost 1 year since battery was changed and no fuel pump issues).

1992 ford ranger 3.0

i was once pulling a trailer with a ranger when it suddenly lost power and the engine died. turns out the problem was with the fuel shut off inertia switch. the switch is supposed to activate in case of accident. on my model the inertia switch is located in the passenger side under the glove box. dont know where yours is located. once you find it, just push the button and see if it resets. good luck.
