Thanks for helping..the dryer was not on when we were moving it, but we did have to tip it back and forth( gently ) to adjust the legs. I believe I have the little red box tool thing. I will check and get back with you.

Ar the back of the machine.. you need ro remove a panel. Make sure to unplug the unit.
Were you moving while it was on?
You see that Sometime the dryer is like a lightbulb. you flick it when lit, you can cause it to break the filiment.
That can happen to dryers too
If the back is exposed and you see the ends of the element, remove wires. If you have a Ohmmeter, check the resistance across the element. If it stays at one, broken element, if more than one. element is fine.
If element if fine, look for a circular device the size of a quarter,
Remove wires and test. Again 1 = bad ,1+ = Good
Replace themristat and/or element when you which one

My dryer turns on and spins and everything but it has no heat to it. Whats wrong with it.

don't know if you fixed your dryer problem yet.if it worked fine at your old place and now you're having problems at the new house how did you vent the dryer outside?if you hooked your dryer onto a vent line that was there the line could be blocked with lint and popped either the thermal fuse or the high linit thermostat or it's just coincidence that you have a problem right after the move.if you still need help with this let me know and i'll be happy to help you,if you open the door and look around the opening you'll see a tag with the model number,if you send this i can look up your dryer to see what parts are in it.thanks

hi there, I have repaired many of these dryers. It will be a faulty heater element, most likely. They cost about $40. If you get a tradesman to fit it, they will prob charge you about $200 all up. Maybe its better to buy a new dryer for around $300? Good luck.

Heating element is not working

I would say it could be one of two things. The heating elements could be bad, not likely though as the were working when the dryer was reset. You may want to try changing your circuit breaker, as your heating elements work off of the 2 phase 240 voltage while everything else in the dryer works off 120V. Check the voltage on each phase of the breaker in your electric panel see if your putting out the full 110-120V per phase.

Electric Maytag Neptune Dryer not heating up.

If the dryer won't heat up, the problem is typically either a blown thermal fuse or a faulty heating element. The thermal fuse is located just inside the back of the dryer on or near the exhaust duct. It is about one inch long. The thermal fuse and heating element can be tested using an ohm meter or multimeter. These components should have continuity. If either does not, that component is faulty. There is no telling if the moving around of the machine caused the problem or if the timing of the problem was coincidental. Sure hope this helps ya and best wishes.

No heat

mcwilliams if you pull the over off the front of the dryer at the bottom you can see the gas burner assy. Put the dryer on time dry and start the dryer, you should see a glow from the ignitor, then hear a click, then the heat come on. In the auto dry mode, the timer advances along with the dryness level. No heat, No timer advancing. If you don't see a glow, there should be a thermosat on the heater can, see if it is tripped. If so if it is resetable, reset then try again. You may have a bad ignitor.
