To connect your Lowrance Hook 7 fish finder to your Minn Kota trolling motor with Universal Sonar 2, you will need the MKR-US2-10 adapter cable. This cable is specifically designed for connecting Lowrance and other fish finders to Minn Kota motors with Universal Sonar 2 technology

its hard to describe a school of bait fish on the screen less you know what your looking at you need to go on line to www.lowrance and go to there what bait fish looks like on your screen page it will show you all you need to know and how to set your unit to know what your looking at and how to read your screen on your unit

Are you looking for the little fish symbols?
Press MENU, down arrow to SONAR FEATURES and press ENT. Arrow to FISH SYMBOLS and press ENT. Press EXIT twice. Any significant return in the water will now show up as a fish symbol.

Are you looking for the fish arches?
You won't get any arches unless the boat is moving and of course there are fish passing within the transducers signal. The shallower the water, the less area you are covering and less likely to get a fish return.
