Although the unit could have a bad door sensor, I think the unit most likely has a bad temperature sensor or control board. I read that a control board was the problem, with a hole blown in it, so you might check the control board out carefully. I also read that the compressors on these units have a 5 year parts and labor warranty, so if the compressor is running all the time, have it checked out under warranty, if applicable.
Here is what they say to check for the alarm:
1. Alarm buzzer sounds (some models).

  • Freezer temperature is above 20 degrees F.
Turn Temp-Alarm off until temperature is below 20 degrees F. Be sure freezer is properly leveled, and that door closes freely and gaskets seal properly.

Hi, there is a fault in the controller board as it must be tripping off the alarm without the sensor giving the signal. You will need to check the controller board for sorting out, other wise just disconnect the alarm as the freezer is working and the thermostat is controlling the temperature correctly

Alarm is going off how do I stop it

The best temperature is the midpoint. Typically 3 or 4. The alarm will go off once the temperature goes down to the freezing point.

My american fridge freezers alarm has just gone off and the temperature is reading -- and flashing

is it a side by side if so it is more likely your rear brd that has failed and needs replacing. This brd controls the appliance. It is located in the rear behind the panel at the bottom. Looking from behind it is in the bottom right hand corner

I have a Whirlpool side by side fridge freezer (brand new only 2 days old) the alarm is going off and the two lines side by side on the freezer side are flashing?

The alarm is set off when the freezer is out of the differential range of the setpoint. In other words, the freezer is still too warm. If you press the alarm button, the sound will stop but the light will stay on. If the unit is working correctly and cooling properly, this light should go out once the cabinet temperature gets close to the setpoint temperature. Hope this helps you.
