Not to b rude but "Back Gate Wont Open" has nothing to do with speakers and sub-woofers. but try n take off the plastic piece around the handle but sticking a flat head on top of the plastic piece pushing down and pop it out wards. there are two tabs at the bottom of the plastic piece so be careful and try not to brake them, take that piece off and look for two metal rodes. one or maybe both have fell off and thats y its not opening, so pull those two inwards at the same time and it should OPEN... good luck

Why liftgate acuator clicking when lift gate is open

I would bet on the liftgate module (LGM) It controls all that stuff back there, wiper, defrost, gate ajar light, gate lock and unlock ect. Might try wiggleing the wiring boot where the wires go from the body to the gate,if it changes anything, bet on a broken wire inside that boot.
If not the LGM is my first thought.

Toyota 4runner Lift Gate Won't Close/Open

Insert the key and turn the lock cylinder while lifting up on the lift gate. You have to get the gate open. Once open, The strike plate (where the locking mechanism hits) is bolted to the jamb. Loosen the bolts and slightly move it toward the rear of the vehicle. NOT TOO MUCH!
Tighten the bolts, and try it. Hope this helps.

Can I open the rear glass when the gate is open. I have a large item that needs to get into the car via the gate, but I only need the window open after that. If not ... how do I get it done (forcefully)...

You should be able to open the window and the gate. If the window won't open while the gate is open, try opening the window first, then opening the gate.

Good Luck!

Tail gate will not open when you press key or when you push interior button for tail gate to open. It just clicks but doesn't open. 2004 Pacifica

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

If it clicks then she's still ok. The lock may have been stuck that's why it won't open. As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you spray WD40 on the mechanism. This will loosen the lock and will resolve the problem.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

It seems that I have a short in my wires. My tail lights wont stay on. My problem is the lift gate is stuck and I cannot access the lights. When u use the remote to open the doors it makes a funny sound....

You should be able to remove the trimpanel on the lift-gate. then at the location of the striker in the middle-bottom of lift-gate you should be able to access a rod. Grab the rod with pliers, if pliers won,t fit the rod connects to a metal lever attached to the striker assembly, pry the lever away from the striker and this should release you gate....Good Luck!!!
