Question about Pioneer DEH-P6700MP CD Player

1 Answer

I have a Pioneer DEH-P670MP. Battery was disconnected (changed out heater core). Now that battery is reconnected, it gives a series of five beeps five times (twenty-five total beeps) EVERY time the ignition is turned on, and about every half hour of continuous driving thereafter. How do I re-set the unit to make this stop (other than with a three pound hammer) ?? Thanks !!

The only warning tone this head unit can generate is a FACE IS STILL ON after the the ignition key is off.

Please check the back side of the face and the front side of the deck for damage.

The sensor switch can be damage or dirty.

You have to check this yourself carefully.
The sensor switch is very small.

===

If all else fail,try to turn the WARNING TONE OFF by disable this feature,

OPEN HERE and follow exact instruction on SECTION 9 PAGE 41 (middle / right)

===
The correct way is to fix the micro switch but disable the WARNING TONE will be the faster way to get the job done.

    Warning on the head unit is off. The 'remove face plate' beep is NOT what I am getting.

    My bad--the beeping is coming out of a CD-IB100 I-Pod adapter which is connected to the DEH-P670MP head end unit.

    Disconnecting and reconnecting the I-Pod from its cord makes no difference.

    The repeated beeping DID start after the sequence of events originally described.

    Thanks !!

    IP-BUS cable is off or damaged.

    check IP-BUS ends for bad contact.

    Reprogram the head unit per instruction on SECTION 3 (3/4 into this instruction)

How do you bypass the heater core on a 1998 Ford Bronco 2?

Disconnect both hoses from the core and one of them also from the engine. Hook the other one back to where you took one off, making a loop. The picture below is not a bronco, but gives you the idea.
By the way, your core is easy to replace. It almost pops right out from under the dash. I ahve included picture below.

Remove and replace heater core procedures:

  1. Disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core tubes and plug hoses.
  2. In the passenger compartment, remove the five screws attaching the heater core access cover to the plenum assembly and remove the access cover.
  3. Pull the heater core rearward and down, removing it from the plenum assembly.

To install:

  1. Position the heater core and seal in the plenum assembly.
  2. Install the heater core access cover to the plenum assembly and secure with five screws.
  3. Install the heater hoses to the heater core tubes at the dash panel in the engine compartment. Do not over-tighten hose clamps.
  4. Check the coolant level and add coolant as required. Connect the negative battery cable.
  5. Start the engine and check the system for coolant leaks.

After reconnecting the car battery, the radio would not turn on

The pioneer has a small protection fuse in the back of the radio, alot of time when it catches a power spike, it will blow to protect the head unit. It should be plugged in the back of the radio under the main plug. Hope this helps.

DEH-P670MP Display goes from regular to extra bright, then back

Your deck has "reverse mode" activated. To turn it off, just turn off the power by holding the source button. The press the preset "5" button. When you turn the deck back on, reverse mode should be disabled. (If this doesn't work, try the same procedure with button "6". One's for reverse mode, the other for demo mode, but I'm not sure I remember which is which).
