We have a xerox document center 426c copier. We are getting a fault of touch screen/control panel fault which tells you to cut off the copier and then back on which after doing nothing changes. The last DYS SYS-IIT/IPS is U7-41. Other solutions seemed to not pertain to this computer, especially how to get the error codes.

Hi. The error message is telling you what the exact problem is. There is a problem with your touch screen control panel. Fixing this issue will need replacement of the defective part and needs technical expertise. Try this one first switch off the machine and unplug the power cord for the wall. Press and hold the power button for 30 secs. Plugged in the power cord then turn on the machine. If you still get the same error message then you need to call the maufacturers tech and have the part replaced. This will require taking-apart the machine to replaced the defective part.

All the best!

Hi there

This is a problem with paper jam in the copier all you need to do is to troubleshoot.

Lift up the top control panel Pull out the paper from the output tray and check to see whether there are any visible paper jams.

Grip the edges of the jammed paper and pull it slowly toward you to remove it from the Xerox copier. Set the paper back into the tray and push the control panel down into place.

The machine is detecting a problem with the touch screen or control panel. Either could have a problem, or a ribbon connector could be slightly ajar. If you're pretty mechanical, you might be able to take it apart enough to reset the ribbon connectors, however, that's probably about all you can check out without a service manual. You can try to run some diagnostics, if the machine is working well enough to let you, but most likely a repair person will have to address this problem, unless you get lucky.
Here's some info from, concerning a Call for Service Report, which may help further identify the problem:

It’s also helpful to know that you can run a report known as the “Call for Service Report” from “Customer Tools” which will give you the Machine’s Serial Number, Current system software version, total images billing meter, and Last 20 Faults.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

  • First, if the copier is still under warranty, do not attempt to trouble shoot it or they may not cover it under the warranty if you work on it without their technician doing it for you.
  • Step 2Second, do not laugh because if you do, you may one day feel VERY foolish. Turn the copier off, then re-start it. Too many times this is an automatic reset that people fail to try. It seems too easy and it is, so try it before you call a technician who will charge you just to come by your office to turn the copier on and then off.
  • Step 3Read the directions that accompanied the copier. Too many times we start using office supplies before we read the directions - if ever. Go to the index and look up the specific problem you are experiencing and try it. Look specifically for paper jams and a reset button inside the copier.

If all else fails, call the company's technician and watch what they do. you may have to perform the same task for the same problem again in the future and it will save you some time and money.

If this solution don't work please feel free to let me know

Hi you can also try this method:Whenever your Xerox brand copier experiences a problem, such as jammed paper or an incorrectly installed toner cartridge, the machine automatically generates a function or error code. Each of these numbered codes corresponds to a specific problem with the copier, such as a bad imaging unit. Knowing which error code corresponds to which problem makes it simple to troubleshoot the problem and get your Xerox copier back up and running.

    • Check the Xerox copier's front panel to see what function code is displayed. Check to see if the code is listed as error "01," "02," 03," "80," "81," "82," "83" or "84."

    • Step 2.Unplug the Xerox copier. Pull up the front plastic cover to reveal the toner cartridges. Pull out each of the toner cartridges, then slide them back into place. Replace the cover and plug in the copier.

    • Step 3.Hold the power button until the copier shuts off if the function code reads "05," "10," "11," "12," "13," "50," "51," "70," "71" or "72." Turn on the copier and attempt to copy a document again.

    • Step 4.Unplug the copier and open the front panel if the function code reads error "20," "21," "22," "30" or "32." Contact Xerox to purchase a new imaging unit for your specific copier model.
  • Hilton Bristol Jul 31, 2010

  • Turn the blue knob at the front of the plastic imaging unit counterclockwise. Pull the imaging unit toward you until it catches, then lift up the unit's handle and pull it out of the copier.

  • Step 6Check to see whether the white plastic sensors behind the imaging unit are dusty. Wipe off the sensors with a soft cloth or the brush tool that came with the new imaging unit. Slide the new imaging unit into the copier and turn the blue locking knob clockwise. Close the plastic cover.

  • Step 7Lift up the top control panel if the error code reads "33," "40," "41," "42," "43," "52," "53" or "62." Pull out the paper from the output tray and check to see whether there are any visible paper jams.

  • Step 8Grip the edges of the jammed paper and pull it slowly toward you to remove it from the Xerox copier. Set the paper back into the tray and push the control panel down into place.

Your error is either a disconnected cable or a bad cable.

Xerox refers to the Operator Panel as the "UI"or User Interface, and the "NC" as the Network Controller. The cable you probably need to check or replace is 117K37660, coming out of the Operator panel back to the copier.

Xerox work center 7335 code error : 005-285

Solution : Power Off the Printer, Then Power On
    1. Power off the printer using the power switch located on the front, right side of the machine under the Control Panel.
    2. Wait until the Touch Screen becomes blank.
    3. Press the power switch again to power on the printer. The entire power on process (to power on and complete a self test) takes less than 45 seconds. Certain functions of the printer, such as copying, will be available before other functions.
If this fails to solve your issue contact service.
    Hope it helps!

Xerox phaser 7760 sends fault error code 007-274. Won't go further. -john

This error means there is an open circuit in the Paper size sensor, in Tray 1/MPT.

It could be a broken wire in the tray assembly, or a fault on the Engine control interface board.

The voltage at the sensor should be about 3 VDC. (Pin 1 of Plug J610)
