Computer crash, when i try to go into the safe mode it just recycle itself and lockups. what is the code for getting into scandisk and is there some other code to allow me to boot from. thanks so much, it is my sister computer in Virginia and I am in Washington Marvin mlapradd@comcast.net

Well..if you can't get into safe mode, through F8, then there are larger issues here...you may need to reboot from a recovery CD...

This usually means you have a corrupt profile.
I would log in using safe mode which might work.
If you can get to the admin user in safe mode, use that to create a new profile.
Otherwise you'll have to run scandisk.
In Win XP, try this:

In Win 7, when you hit F8 to start in safe mode you can get to the prompt that says "repair my computer".
Choose that option.

Hi there !

For some reasons computer can crashed because some corrupted, missing files, virus program or faulty driver installed. Faulty installed drivers or multiple drivers installed with the same drivers can crashed your computer. Running on Safe mode will remove mulltiple same drivers in your computer and it will run on fresh install driver when loading to normal mode.

I suggest to run your computer on safe mode.

To run on safe mode, just restart your computer and press F8 to run on safe mode. After going to windows setting, restart your computer again. Check if this solve your problem.

sorry to say, you will need to take it in, it needs to be hooked up to their computer to reset and have it start up poperly. It just like a pc when it crash it will try to start in safe mode until you select "Normal" start up

Display driver crashes & recovers. Sometimes over and over again until computer crashes. Then I have choice of safe mode, normal etc.


restart computer at startup press f8 down for 3 secs / should give u options /go to safe mode hit it follow on sceen till u get to desk top open controll go to uninstall programs open and find the driver u put on should be display and deleat then restart should solve dave if not f8 restart try f11

Long booting up in takes 2-3 hrs. before my OS start


Two to three hours is a long time! It sounds like your hard drive is getting ready to crash.

If your computer is running, click Start and, in the search box, type

eventvwr

and press enter. (If you have XP, click Start -> Run and type eventvwr).

Under Windows Logs, click System. On the right side, click Source. All the events will sort by source. Scan the list for any "disk" errors. If you are getting disk errors, your hard drive is crashing. You should either take your computer to a competent professional to get the hard drive imaged, or purchase a new hard drive and do the imaging.

I have a 2 year old dell desk top that is stuck on the blue screen. I can't even boot up in safe mode anymore. I'm willing to crash if need be and reinstall. Just need some help to get past that screen.


nothing you can do only you can do two method:

1.try unplug you HDD and connect to other pc then run scandisk after that plug-in to you pc and run in safe mode see can past this messages

2.repairing you os use you recovery disk if no ok you need to format or may be HDD faulty

note: can you remember last time want you do to pc may be you action cause this happen example install software or game

Pinnacle Studio Plus version 10 Keeps Crashing


If you are getting any type of error message or warning message (except a fatal crash message), then , click here to see the FAQ titled "Studio Launch error/warning messages" to resolve these issues. For a fatal crash or any type of lockup/freezing while launching, continue with this FAQ, below.
If Studio was launching for some period of time and then it stopped launching, it is best to try to determine what changes have been made to the computer recently and undo the changes to see if it has an affect on the problem. Here's a short list of what could affect Studio's ability to launch:
  • A Studio patch was applied but it didn't install properly
  • The graphics driver was updated
  • Hardware was installed
We recommend using Windows XP System Restore. You can obtain more information on how System Restore works from the Microsoft web site at:

Troubleshooting steps for Studio hangs or crashing while launching (starting)
1. RESTART THE COMPUTER. Try restarting the computer
2. WAIT A FEW MINUTES: If Studio still won't launch, wait a few minutes to let it finish launching. We have noticed on some computers that it may take a little while for Studio to completely launch. Studio 10 users click here to see the FAQ on this.
3. LATEST VERSION OF STUDIO. There was a launch problems in previous versions of Studio 10 that are now fixed in the latest version. When troubleshooting any problem, it is always best to be on the latest version of the software.
If you have Studio version 12, download the latest version here.

If you have Studio version 11, download the latest version here.

If you have Studio version 10, download the latest version here .

Note: Studio 11 patches will only patch a previous install of Studio 11. Studio 10 patches will only patch a previous install of Studio 10. Etc.

If you have an older version of Studio (Studio 9 or 10, etc), it is advised for you to update to the current Studio software. The current version is Studio 12. Click Here to go to the Studio 12 Upgrade page.

How to download and install a patch:
  • When downloading the patch make a note of where it is being saved to. We recommend saving the patch to the desktop.
  • Before installing the patch, make sure that you do not have any other programs running. Studio must not be running.
  • Once it is fully downloaded, double-click on the patch to begin the installation.
  • Follow any on-screen prompts to complete the installation. Reboot the computer after applying the patch.

4. SAFE MODE: Try launching Studio in Safe mode. In Safe mode, many device drivers and applications do not load. If Studio will launch in safe mode, then the issue is most likely a configuration problem with your computer. NOTE: We do not recommend using Studio in Safe Mode. This step is for testing purposes only. To start in Safe mode:
  • Shut down the computer
  • When you turn it back on, tap the F8 key every couple seconds until a menu pops up. (If the XP splash screen appears, the F8 keys was pressed too late so restart the computer and try this step again)
  • On the menu, choose Safe Mode, and then press the Enter key
  • Launch Studio

If Studio won't launch in Safe mode, then Studio many not be installed properly or the install may be corrupt. We recommend uninstalling and reinstalling Studio.

try booting into safe mode (by hitting F2 or F8 when the computer is starting to boot up.) if you can get into safe mode, you can uninstall the program.
