Yeah tried different cords, and my cords on a different 1TB WD and they seem to be working ok.
Is there anyway I can get the information off the hard drive still?

Hi you should check the cable which connect the external hard drive to the computer, and the cable which connect the hard drive to the wall outlet, test them to see it any have a power shortage or try using new cables and if the cables are good this mean your hard drive bad and should be replace.

That would be kind of difficult because the hard drive is not receiving power

but if you can see the icon in the computer you can copy the information to the new hard drive by double clicking on the icon and copy the information you need.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Flashing blue light on external WD hard drive & not recognised

sounds like you are using the wrong power supply. Check the amp output on the power plug you plug into the wall make sure its the same as the amp input of your external harddrive
