HI, I´VE BOUGHT A JWIN VD 140 DVD PLAYER. UNFORTUNATELY I´VE LOST THE REMOTE CONTROL. IS IT POSSIBLE TO USE ANY OTHER JWIN DVD PLAYER REMOTE? IN E-BAY I´VE FOUND A JWIN VD 120 OR 141 CONTROL, BUT I DON´T KNOW IF THEY´RE USEFUL FOR THE MODEL I HAVE. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. GASTON VALLEJOS.

you can test your remote with a mobilephone camera like this:

open camera on the phone an hold the remote front against the camera

(approx 10cm from it) press a button and look in the display on the phone.

if the controller works you should se a blue light in the display coming from the remote front.

if no light: try other batteries again note the battery polarity. no light= controller broken.

if there is light= the remote is working. try to disconnect power from the DVD for a few minutes,

and try again. if it still not works the player is propably broken.

With the DVD tray open, press 9735 on remote. A menu will pop up, arrow down to Region, then arrow right to highlight the desired region (0 for all). Press Select, then arrow down to Exit Setup and Select again.

try with the disc tray closed. and if that doesn't work turn player off by plug socket and turn back on and start from the setup menu part of the unlock code after turning player back on.

Open the cover , there must be a blown fuse, replace with another fuse of same value. If still not working take to service centre. This is a case of SMPS power supply failure.

Well...I went to the Jwin website and this is what they have posted as far as using a universal remote:
