I have a motorola v3a. Have had the phone for about 3 months. The ringtones were playing fine. Now they are scratchy and distorthed. Has anyone else had this problem and what can be done? It is now hard to hear the phone ringing.

Re: Ringtones are distorted muffled and scratchy
Well, if you'r going to dis assemble it you can clean the speaker buzzer in the lower section of the board clean the contact point, with thinner and cotton buds,, and if it does'nt work then you have to replace it... but its better for you to bring it to the pro's to avoid damaging u'r fone, co'z the flex are sensitive case.

The V3 is deceiving because it has many different software versions. If you power the phone off, and then press and hold the * and # keys while pressing the power button, it should come up with a black screen with white letters telling you the bootloader version. I bet if you compare the two, the bootloader will be different.
There is the V3i, V3a, V3m, V3r, V3re, V3c etc.
I've heard of many of the new razors not being able to use MP3's as ring tones.
please rate as at least helpful as there is no FixYa solution for your problem.
Before you can assign a ringtone to a contact, you must first go to "settings" and then to "ring styles". Click on "Detail" and go down to "Ringer IDs". Make sure it says "On". After that, you should be able to assign a ringtone to a contact by editing the contact details. (Custom ringtones are at the bottom of the list instead of at the top.) Hope that helps.
download motorolla conection program then P2K commander connect your phone to the motorolla program then start the auto start on the P2K then open the P2K commander select the p2k phone system and re read find audio and change the attributes on the blue toothed sounds so that they mach the factory sounds then they will work you can also use this to delete unwanted animations and sounds to free up space on your phone and fyi Altell did this to force you to buy ringtones there sales rep confirmed this
