When i turn on my camera it says turn power off and on again and i keep doing that but it says the same thing what do i do ?

Might as well replace the camera, the cost to repair is well over $100-200

You might try removing the battery for a minute or two to reset the camera. You may lose any special settings in the process. After reinstalling the battery, try turning the power on and off again.

Performing a manual power reset

Turn off the camera.

Remove the battery pack.

Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.

Allow the camera to remain without power for 60 seconds.

Reinsert the battery pack.

Turn on the camera.

To reset the Camera back to factory default, select the INITIALIZE Option from the Main Settings 1

Menu of the Camera to OK.This will set the user defined settings back to factory default. The images and videos will not get deleted.

If the issue persists, service may be required.

Normal batteries it's not working for me!
After i replace standard alkalines with rechargeable NiMH batteries Sony and Varta 2700 Ni-MH it's was working!
My camera it's turn on every time!

what sort of error.. turn power off and on again ? the lense oes in and out 3 times and then says turn off power and turn on again?

if this is so, use some canned air and blow around the lens joints when turned on, turn it off and on to see if that fixed it. If not turn off power bang face down on palm several time ( no its not a joke) then turn it on again,keep doing this untill it clears it will save you $175

turn it on
take hold of the end of the lense, then pull and twist gantly you may hear it click but dont force it then turn off and on again this may solve your problem

Hey, my camera the dsc- w80 did the same thing. When I turned it on, the lens opened 3-4 times and then it said "turn the power off and on again".
When the lens opened an closed, I pulled on it with my fingers and twisted it. I kept doing that: Turned the camera on and off, kept pulling and twisting the lens and now my camera works again!

my camera did the same thing, lens retracts 3 or 4 times, and then proceeded with an error message "turn off and on again". I pressed the power button probably about 10 times, didn't work, so then i gave it a good smack on the top of the frame a few times while repeatedly pressing the power button and it did the trick. Hasn't gave me problems since...hope it helps
