Re: my R52WH74YX66 HDTV shows in 3D and double vision
There are 3 brown square-shaped fuses located on the power supply module located right beside the flyback transformer. Most likely one of those fuses are open. You will have to replace the open fuse and resolder the connections to the flyback transformer, which has a few pins that gets loose on bottom of board and makes that fuse blow. This is a very common problem on these rca's. I've had to fix a lot of them by doing this at our shop. I would definately start there.
From the back of the set, the flyback is located on the left corner closest to you on the board all the way to the left. It is large, either gray or black, and has 2 or 3 wires coming out of it. One of the wires will be very large in diameter and red. The brown square fuses are located just to the right of the flyback transformer. The values that you will need to replace them with is written both on the board next to the fuses and on top of the fuses.

Re: my R52WH74YX66 HDTV shows in 3D and double vision
This is a common problem in these sets; if the set does not show "convergence" in the customer menu there are three pico type fuses on the deflection board and one is blown.
To be perfectly honest most shops do not like to fix this brand of set as the convergence circuit is spread across 3 circuit boards that are not available--all parts of course are RCA only and delays to get parts needed are common here.
Look in the customer menu and if convergence does not show, one of the protect fuses (really labeled as a "coil" is bad---these are usually located next to the High Voltage transformer and are usually tan in color about the size of a one watt resistor.

Tv have a problems known as a picture convergence problems,it is dead.Tv have colors R,G,B lines are mis alignments in pictures, have colors shadows pictures or 3D picture look alike?Yes,than the tv convergence board it dead,tv must require replacement on the tv convergence board like 2 STK conconvergence ICS and some or all of it resistors too,to fixed the tv convergence board to solved tv convergence pictures problems. The tvs shops will cost u like $300-$350 for parts and labors.
Projection TV sets have two very common problems. One is convergence ( 3D/Warped video) the other is CRT fluid ( Dull Video). Here are more details and solutions for both. Repair kits with instructions are also avail from www.TvRepairKits.com
Common Problem #1) Convergence has gone out
Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.
This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.
Common Symptoms include....
Screen looks 3D
Colors don't line up
One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
Screen is bowed or warped.
TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.
Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.
sounds like the sensors are out of focus and your red sensor isnt turning on. look in the back of the tv for a master reset button or in your menu screen some sort of "Flash focus" or "convergence". They will realign the 3 sensors.
tHIS is a convergence problem.. first question if you go into the customer setup menu. is the convergence option listed? If you have not got that option i suggest you read "the fl231 problem in the tips and trick section of this website. this can be a simple inexpensive repair..if you do have the convergence option then it can be one of three diffrent boards convergence power, convergence amp or small signal board. and will need further trouble shooting
I HAD THE SAME ISSUE. I WAS LUCKY, MY TV WAS UNDER WARRANTY. THEY SENT IT TO BE FIXED. THEY REPLACED 2 CONNECTORS FROM THE PROJECTOR AND THE ON/OFF BUTTON. THE WIRES WERE NOT TRANSMITTING THE SIGNAL/ OR A SHORT IN IT. THEY REPLACE THEM ALSO. IT WOULD TAKE MY TV ABOUT 2 MINUTES TO TURN ON. THE COLORS WERE OFF. AND I HAD DOUBLE OR TRIPLE VISION. THEY ALSO REPLACE A FUSE IN THE PROJECTOR PART OF THE TV. THE FUSE ITS SELF COST ABOUT 275.00 WITH OUT LABOR. I DIDN'T PAY A THING I WAS ONE WEEK SHY OF MY WARRANTY TO BE OVER. EMAIL ME IF U THINK THIS HELPED. THANKS VERONICA.SANCHEZ@VETERANS.IDAHO.GOV
