This isnt a bug or a faulty, it is the way he iPhone was designed. In an attempt to prevent piracy Apple wrote a custom Bluetooth stack meaning that the Bluetooth in your iPhone is only useful to connect to an external audio device such as headset. If you device is jailbroken you can install a new Bluetooth stack and have full access to Bluetooth features. Alternatively you can use apps from the app store with limitations. Hope this helps!

That is one of the things I do not like with the iphone. you really cant send photos to other phones. you can only share photos to other iphone or ipod touch, once an app is installed.

Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

it is possible that it is not compatible with the iphone as the iphone only shows devices with which it is compatible with.

Need iphone 3g to recognize car stereo bluetooth, told phone to forget device, how can i get the phone to "remember" it again?

The bluetooth device in the car must be put into "search" mode. it is different with different devices but it needs to make itself discoverable. This keeps just anyone from picking up your bluetooth signal while you drive down the road.

Iphone won't work with bluetooth in mazda 3 2010 My iphone shuts off whenI try to use the bluetooth system in my mazda 3

iPhone has had bluetooth since the first model in 2007. With iPhone OS/firmware 3.0 (free for all iPhone users), iPhones are fully A2DP compliant and link with Mazda bluetooth.
My current experience is with a 2010 Mazda3 and iPhone 3GS, where I get phone and iPod functionality via bluetooth (yes, without jailbreaking), though the steering-wheel controls are limited to play/pause and volume only.

I want to use my iphone 3g bluetooth in every situation

You can't send and receive files with the iPhone's bluetooth. Version 3 of their firmware will supposedly provide this functionality, but only on the iPhone 3G. (2G models don't have the necessary hardware)

As for the hands-free car setup, that should work just fine. It's a matter of pairing the two devices together.

Bluetooth connection to other bluetooth divices

Turn bluetooth on by settings-general-bluetooth. this will make it discoverable, follow direction with device you wish to connect, the iphone should recognize it when you turn it on, it will ask you for a pairing code. Enter that and it should connect.
