this should be very simple:
Step 1: Make sure that all of the equipment is powered down.
Step 2: Connect the Modem with the coaxial cable.
Step 3: Connect the category 5 (ethernet) to your router or IAD, (you may have a combo router, voip box) into the line in port. If you have a combo device jumo to step 5.
Step 4: If you do not have a combo device plug a cat5 cable from the router port 1 to the voip switch.
Step 5: Connect rj cable from the voip box to your handset.
Step 6: Turn on all of the equipment and give it a few minutes to configure.
Step 7: Pick up the phone and verify dial tone.
If you do not have a dial tone check your internet connection and try rebooting the modem and the router.
If you still don't see any connectivity on the modem contact comcast.
