I have an AO Smith SQ1102 pool motor that stopped running. it blew the breaker It was very loud, So I know it needs bearings. I have 3 AO Smith above ground pool motors that are more of a round flange motor. they are 1 HP and have similar specs. Can I use the rotor and bearings from the above ground motor in the SQ1102?

No. it sounds like its too late for your motor , no need for a pool pump motor repair kit ,there is one on ebay . but it sounds like your motor is toast if it blowing the breaker... hey i could be wrong . look for a shop that has free pool pump motor testing .use your zip code in your search..
as far as using the bearings off them threw bolt motors. do what ya got to do, but you might find that the front bearing is a bigger bearing .. i charge 85.00 to rebuild a 2.. but you must catch them befor its too late 2hp new = big $$$
best of luck .. and if'n i was any help ? push on them thumbs up to vote ... thanks jay..oh PRIME THAT PUMP !

Switched to new AO Smith B230SE motor for pool pump. Old motor had left-hand screw that held impeller to shaft. New motor does not have an opening for screw. Will impeller be fine without screw?

Did you try the Century A.O. Smith B230SE motor without the center screw? I'm having the same problem and I'm asking the reseller for advice. It would be great to know if I need the center screw is required? The impeller screws on the shaft, but is the center screw required?

I had a new motor installed for the pool pump and it keeps blowing the breaker. The pump is a AO Smith SQ1102. We have a 20 AMP breaker dedicated to the motor. The pool comes on for about 30 minutes a

How long has it been since you have the new motor installed? Did it work after the job was completed? Very possible that the starter circuit has failed, usually when it comes on and runs but overheats and stops, the starter and run circuits are both engaged and that causes it to overheat. If you can read the wiring diagram on the motor and make sure it it correctly wired, you may save it if it is a simple loose wire. Otherwise it sounds like you will have to have whoever changed it come back and do a warranty repair.

AO Smith SQ1102 pump motor: how do I wire this thing? How do I know if I set it to 115 or 230? I justed popped my 20 amp fuse.

On your motor name plate there is a diagram with motor terminal numbers that shows you the feeder wires connections for 115 & 230VAC. You don't need to change any internal motor wiring connections because those are only CW or CCW motor rotation. As you told it tripped your circuit breaker, b4 u will attemp to make any connection you need to test your motor's winding insulation insulation first by using megger tester or ordinary analog tester clipping one lead to the casing and one lead to the motor terminals one by one.

Need to replace back half of a.o smith pool motoer

Do you mean A.O. Smith motor? This is the back half of
the Pool Pump. A.O. Smith motors are the most common motor drive for household pumps, so I believe
that you can easily find the replacement. Just specify
the horsepower (HP) rating, voltage: 220/110, single
phase or three phase. Just send your e-mail comment
for more info. God bless you.

Sq1102 hot to touch, how hot should it be? I cannot hold my hand on it.

on to be so hot you can barely put your hand to it. The motor likely has a thermal shut off device on it. If you see "thermally protected" on the motor nameplate, you are safe. If the motor starts to run louder, you will want to replace the bearings and probably the pump seal to avoid a complete failure down the road.

http://www.mypool.com/Products/Catalog/mo.asp for the capacitor.

See if there is another part number for that breaker (CET51 ABM).
