IPod Backlight Broken

My iPod's backlight stopped working some time ago . . . is there any way I can fix this?

Ipd 5th generation 60gb - screen doesn't light - can see everything faintly but the backlight doesnt come on - is this a screen problem or possibly a loose connection?

I thought my ipod was broken but i did something to make it brighter:
Go to settings and scroll to brightness (i guess it should be right under backlight timer in the menu)
There you will need to scroll clockwise and you will see your screen get brighter.
Anyway I have a ipod video I'm not sure if it's the same as the other ipod series.

On your ipod, try going to "settings" and see if you can turn the back light up.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I want to know which generation is the Ipod 30G model A1136, thanks

There are two 5th gen iPods, A1136 model is the older 2005 model, not the later 2006 model.

Here is Apples link: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353#ipodfifth2 which will show the differences, but not by model number. The reason I know this model number is the first 5th gen 2005 is because I have one. Also older 2005 should have '2005' engraved on rear.

Ipod backlight wont work

Most of the time this is the LCD panel itself - it has built in LEDs around the edges of the screen that light it up. A simple swap out of the LCD is what will solve this. Email me if you need this done.

I-Pod wheel broken?

To reset an iPod with a Click Wheel, including: ipodnano3.jpg ipodclassic.jpg icon_ipod_5g.gif ipodnano2.jpg ipodnano.jpg ipodphoto.gif ipodg4.gif ipodmini.gif
  • iPod nano (3rd generation)
  • iPod classic
  • iPod (5th generation)
  • iPod nano (2nd generation)
  • iPod nano
  • iPod with color display (iPod photo)
  • iPod (Click Wheel)
  • iPod mini
  • iPod mini (2nd generation)
  1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.
If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.

IPod Backlight Broken

If you're comfortable with opening your iPod, you can replace the LCD (you can buy a replacement one on eBay) and the new one should work properly.
