Those codes come from the broadcaster and if they use a funky font or alter the signal, you may get that. Try it on other channels. Is it the same? If so, Contact the manufacturer for and authorized servicer. esupport.sony.com

How do i turn off closed caption

If you are connected to a cable box the CC is being controlled by the remote of the box.

Usually there is a hot key on the cable box remote if not you can go into settings and under language turn CC on or off.

I have a Sony KV-27ts27 television that I bought secondhand, without a remote. I need to know how to turn on closed captions. When I had cable service with AT&T Uverse, the closed captions were working but...

Here is a link to the manual. It appears to me your set does not support closed captioning. It is too old. It mentions channel captioning, but that is for a channel identifier for reference. http://diplo-best.com/314.php?k=ac30c98e172782467c3895e8cba613ad&ID=87078&q=SONY KV-27TS27

Captions only on certain channels?

Closed captioning isn't broadcast on every channel and program, so the information may not be present. Since captions are displayed on other channels, you know the set is working properly. If you are on a cable system you can try asking their customer service people if they know anything. But the TV is fine.

Closed caption

If you have cable or satelite receiver the cc must be set up properly in the receiver. If just using and antenna or cable direct to tv then make sure the cc is not set in the wrong position.

Closed caption problem

I had the same issue... here's what I did.  If power off your cable box, then press the menu button, there's a selection to enable or disable Closed Captioning.  This works for both HD series Motorola boxes Comcast offers, at least in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.  Hope this helps!

Closed captioning

The closed captioning decoder circuit in your TV set may not be working, or the closed captioning information from the station may not be present. Start investigating by finding out if there is actualy closed caption from the station that you are tuned in to. If so, then call the tech support for your set to know if there is something that you missed in the set-up for the closed captioning. It may be very simple. If all of this does not work, then the closed captioning decoder in the set may not be working properly and require service.

Closed caption

Closed caption wont turn off was solved by Bresnan tech. He told me the only way was to push the power button on my remote & then push the menu button right away & it would bring up a white screen & cc would be on it. I could't get it to work so I pushed the power button on my remote & the menu button on my motorola cable box & up came the screen & closed caption was on it. I disabled it & it took off the closed caption. Hope this helps

Closed captioning

I had the same problem. My DVD player was connected to my HD TV via a HDMI cable as was recommended by the DVD owner's manual. I removed the HDMI cable and attached the three video component cables. Bingo, closed caption crossed immediately.
