Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

When I start my washing machine, it would start filling the tub and then after a couple of minutes, it would stop and then "C1" would start blinking on the display.

    Thanks for your response!!

I appreciate the input. However i need to have the model number.

    Thanks!!

I have not been able to find the model number on the machine. I received in second hand. I was told to look on the door of the machine but it is not there. Are there any other places to look for this model number? Sears wanted to come out and check it out but I feel that the $129.00 just to come out is a bit much. I may as well put that money towards a new machine.

    Thanks for your response!!

The reason i asked about the model number, as i have never seen any C1 code on Kenmore washer. However, there is a similar code on Whirlpool - CI

It means - The Ci code is for "Instantaneous current trip". It can be caused by overloading but if you get it now even empty, there is a motor problem or the wash system is tight. This is an expensive repair.

However,if you could give a Model Number, i would be glad to check the service manual.

    Good Luck!!

    Thanks!!

Problem is too much soap. Wrong soap. Press and hold: SPIN SPEED & SOIL LEVEL buttons--then press POWER button.
Wait for door to lock.

Press the START button (6) times--this will fill the tub with hot water to the maximum setting when it stops filling.

Press the START button two more times--this will enable the tub to tumble.
After 3 hours--turn "off" the washer.
Turn the washer back "on".
Select the shortest wash cycle (usually "quick wash") and press "START". This will rinse out the tub.

White Magic 650H. Why is error code PE displayed and water reuse LED blinking?

In my research, the PE error relates to the fill level of the washing machine. The fill level sensor is a pressure operated device. There is a sealed air line that goes from the bottom of the tub to an air pressure sensor. As the tub fills, it compresses the air in this air pressure sensor. When the tub is filled to the level selected on the dial, the sensor stops the fill cycle.

This air line can be plugged or the sensor itself can be faulty. This air pressure sensor is usually located near the top of the tub just under the top cover. If you can locate it, disconnect the air line from the pressure sensor and blow through it - it may be blocked by lint and soap from several washing cycles. There may be a filter in this line to help prevent this blockage. But the filter may have become blocked itself.

Push start and machine wont fill and draining/unlocking light sarts blinking about 2 seconds later

My machine had the exactly same problem:
1. Push Start button to wash, but Draining/Unlocking light will flash right away. The drum started to run and stopped
2. No error code shown up
3. Run Quick test: no error code
4. Run Universal Test: error code F25 (later, found nothing wrong with the CCU)
What I did:
1. Clean the bump: found coins and strings.
2. Clean the drain pipe from the pump to tub: found more coins.
3. Clean chamber of pressure switch at the tub: found nothing.
4. Clean the gap between tub and drum: found a credit card!
After the cleanings, the Draining/Unlocking light would still come back and I almost gave up. Amazingly, I ignored it and a few minutes later.... the machine started to run as normal!
It seems that CCU needs sometime to reset itself after the failure.

Washer fills with water...starts to go...then after 3 minutes shuts off. I tried to re-start again and will go for another couple of minutes and then shuts off. Please help...Thanks!

Is it a newer model washing machine which is very sensitive to load differential of balance. If it is you should balance the machine and then try again. Second thought is that the tub is catching onto something and giving the transmission a signal that it is stuck. Good Luck

C1 keeps popping up on display during cycle and wont finish. what do i do?

C1 isn't the code, it is a warning that a problem has been detected with the ABS system.

Water keeps flowing does not stop---does not go thru cycles

You probably pinched the water fill hose that comes up from under the tub when you closed the cabinet. Also make sure it is free from trash in the bottom of the tub and that it is tightly connected to the water level switch.
