Question about Briggs & Stratton Briggs and Stratton 030434 3250 Watt Portable Gasoline Generator
My portable gas generator broke a piston rod and in turn cracked the block. How can I get the engine off of the generator anf replace the engine?
Remove the long bolt that holds the armature to the crankshaft, Tap (thread) the hole in the armature as far down as your tap will reach, Use a long bolt or rod stock and a smaller rod as a spacer between the crank shaft and your rod stock ( cut to length) this is your homemade puller. as you tighten the rod stock, hit the sides of the armature with a wood block and (using a hammer against the wood) it will probably pop loose then.
