HI. There are two possible culprits here. The areas of concern will be the element and the control panel interface. In order to isolate the issue, you will need to test the element for proper continuity. Please post the entire model number, if possible. This information is needed to post the correct diagrams and part numbers needed at this time. The model number you have posted above is incomplete and unusable. Please post the entire model number associated with this unit, asap.

Thanks..

Ok, you will need to test the element first to confirm that it is indeed functional. If you were using the sani-rinse option during the cycle and the light started to blink after the cycle, this will most likely be a failed element(partially burned out and not able to heat the water correctly). Now; if you did not select the sani-rinse option and this particular light continues to blink regardless of the settings, this will be a strong indication of control panel interface failure. That particular button has failed due to a stuck or damaged circuit in that sector of the interface. This will require you to replace the entire control panel.

    With that said; Use my procedure below to test the element for its fucntions. this iwll help you isolate the culprit. Follow the procedure below;

First, open the door and look into the tub and locate the heating element (if it is covered, remove the lower dish rack and cover). The heating element has two terminals which extend through the bottom of the tub, note the general location where they go through. To access the heating element's wiring, remove the lower panel located beneath the door. The panel is usually held in place with two screws either above or below the panel. It may be necessary to first open the door to the dishwasher to reach the screws over the panel, then close the door to remove the panel.

Look into the lower access area and locate where the terminals come through the tub. Each terminal has a wire connected to it. Label the wires and the terminals so that they can be properly reconnected. Pull the wire off of each terminal; they are connected with a slip on connector. Firmly pull the connector, do not pull on the wire. You may need to use a pair of needle-nose pliers. Inspect the connector and terminal for corrosion. If either is corroded they should be cleaned or replaced. Test the resistance of the heating element using a multimeter. Set the multimeter to the ohms setting X1 and touch one probe to each of the terminals. A normal reading will be somewhere between infinity and zero. The exact reading differs by manufacturer and model. If the indicator does not move (infinite resistance) or moves to the other extreme of the scale (zero resistance) then the element is damaged and should be replaced.

I have also include a service manual for this unit. This is basically a whirlpool unit with the Kenmore name on it. Kenmore dose not manufacture units. They just apply there brand to most whirlpool manufactured units. This manual will help you located and initiate diagnostic procedures, if you wish. Click Here to access the manual.

In conclusion, Test the element as directed above. If the element proves to be functioning as designed, simply, replace the entire control panel interface assembly. Part numbers for both possible areas of concern will be below.

    Element -W10134009
    Control Panel -8558208 (Black)
    Control Panel -8558209 (White)

If you have already tried that then it is the issue with control panel which needs to be replaced. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Hi

If clean light is blinking then it may be an issue with heater circuit, door switch or wash pump, please reset the power to the dishwasher. After, 5 minutes check if you are still getting the same error. If yes, then it is a water heating fault. To resolve this error try pressing this reset sequence-- Heat Dry - Normal - Heat Dry - Normal or High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry or Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry, Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry. Now let the unit run for 2-3 minutes and then you press the Cancel/Drain button and allow it to completely drain and reset. If this doesn't work then it's an issue with the wash pump not pumping the water past the heater efficiently or due to lack of water to heat. Please make sure that heater is not open circuited and is heating the water efficiently. You'll have to check the heater using a multimeter; the meter should read between 3000 to 3300 ohms (Use multimeter on Rx1 ohm setting). If heater is fine then make sure water pressure is optimum and fill valve is working fine. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

The lights will blink when the door is closed and the start button is pushed

Try a reset. I have a kitchenaid. The reset is to press the sani-rinse, hea-dry, sani-rinse, heat -dry, then close the door. You can hear action the dishwasher doing something. Takes about 2-3 minutes, then stops. At this point I was able to select a wash cycle and start, close the door, and it started. Good luck

I need to reset my Kenmore Elite dishwasher but i don't know how.

Hello,

follow the below instructions:

Unlock your Kenmore dishwasher control panel by pressing and holding the "Heated Dry" button for four seconds.

Press a series of four buttons in quick succession. Press "Heated Dry," "Normal Wash," "Heated Dry" and "Normal Wash" to instruct your Kenmore dishwasher to run a short diagnostic test

Wait for two minutes while your Kenmore dishwasher runs its diagnostic test.

Press the "Cancel/Drain" button once your dishwasher has completed its diagnostic test. This should reset your dishwasher control panel and stop the "Clean" light from blinking repeatedly.
Good luck.

I have this model, but not this problem (my impeller motor seems to have burned out). Anyway, try pressing Hi Temp Scrub, Air Dry, Sani Rinse, Air Dry, in that order and see what happens. Mine appears to reset and run through a set of warm-up tests.

Kenmore Ultra Wash Dishwasher - Blinking Quick Rinse Light

I had the same flashing light problem first the normal wash flashing light then the others. I tried shuting of the breakers but nothing. I tried resetting the panel by pushing normal wash and heated dry simultaneously and nothing. So I took the six screws holding the front panel out and unplugged the ribbon type wires and plug and unplugged it several times to help make a better contact and I was able to get it to work right away. This may not work for all but I worked for me. It is very easy to do and it's worth a try if you're having the same problem. It took me less then 10 minutes.
