Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

I'm looking to purchase a new washing machine. I wanted a machine that washes clothes clean-many of the current front loaders do not clean dirty items well if not on super clean cycle of at least 2hrs. I'm looking for durably constructed body parts not cheap plastic spinarms molded to stainless steel basket. I don't need the bells and whistles of panels that give problems. Can anyone recommend based on their experiences of fixing these machines which ones are well constructed and will provide low maintenance and durable life use?

I would get and older Maytag or Whirlpool direct drive before all the changes. One with the knobs not all the electronic junk that cause problems and made with cheap plastic parts that don't hold up. The old ones can be repaired and a lot of them look about as good as the new ones. An old 30 year old porcelen Maytag thats been taken care of looks almost new and may outlast the new plastic ones.
This is what I do repair old ones for people who don't have much money and I have learned a lot about these machines I won't even take the newer ones it cost so much to repair them and they will be back to be repaired again soon. I won't let my wife buy a new one.

What lime scale / detergent remover can be used for regular cleaning of my front loader.

Front-loading washing machines are energy efficient and use less detergent than top-loaders, but they sometimes have a tendency to harbor mold and unpleasant smells. By giving your washing machine a quick clean once a month, you'll keep your front-loader fresh, which means cleaner clothes, too. This eco-friendly method doesn't use bleach, costs only pennies to make, and comes together with ingredients you already have on hand.
What You'll Need:
  • 2 cups vinegar
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Scrub sponge
Directions:
  1. Start by mixing together the baking soda and water in a small bowl. This is going to be the "detergent" for cleaning the washing machine. Pour the vinegar into a measuring cup and head over to your washing machine.
  2. Add the baking soda mixture to the detergent container of your machine and pour the vinegar into the drum. Set your washer to normal load at the hottest water setting. Close the door and start the machine, letting it do all the hard work for you. The baking soda and vinegar naturally break up mineral deposits and any mold growth while cleaning and refreshing your washing machine.
  3. Use a clean scrubber to rub around the opening of the washing machine, removing stubborn mold or residue. Wipe clean with fresh water.
  4. Your washing machine is sparkling clean and ready to do a load of laundry! Give your front-loader a cleaning once a month to keep your clothes smelling fresh and your machine working in tip-top condition.

After every wash the lent stays on the clothes

here are a few suggestions Two things that come to mind...1) Your wash time is too long. Unlike front loaders, top loaders clean quickly. No need to use the longest wash setting unless the item is really dirty.
2) You are overloading the machine. Items should move freely and circulate from top-to-bottom several times during the wash.
3) try using more detergent, One of the things good detergent does is keep lint (and dirt) suspended in the water and off your clothes. 4)http://www.ehow.com/how_2083872_clean-washing-machine-lint-trap.html

Front Loading Washing Machine: Fully automatic.

Clothes are dirtier after washing...

The problem with your front load washer is a broken rear bearing. If you remove the rear panel, you will see brown "gunk" all over.
If you want to repair it on your own, order this:

Allergic to detergent for front loaders

I have always used regular Tide powder in mine and my kids use Tide liquid in it. You just need to use about half as much. My man is a motor head so he gets DIRTY and I have three teens so I wash a lot of very dirty clothes. My clothes get very clean and I have never purchased the "special" Detergent.

I have had my Duet for three years.

Front loading washing machines

not really front loaders have top loaders beat all the way but stay away from admiral and maytag .a front loader will wash your clothes using the soap that your top load failed to get out if i may suggest buy a frigidaire with a mechanical timer not electronic control more junk on them more to fail the best combo in my mind is a frigidaire front loader and whirlpool dryer front loaders use 2/3 less water 2/3 less soap and will get your clothes twice as clean they have no transmissions and are direct drive the most common promblems with them is having to clean out the pumps where people leave stuff in their pockets also you need to buy soap thats for front loaders its called high effincey or he soap and they will get your clothes make sure you read the installation guide and remove ALL the shipping braces
