Look at the screen held in a bright light at an angle do you see the desktop dimly . if not try the function monitor key, connect an ext monitor to verify the video card is working ,fn monitor . if you see the desktop dimly then the inverter may be out or the lamps.

Reinstall your video driver just go the site of your Laptop manufacture. Once there enter the model number OR service tag of the laptop then request driver (usually found in the web site's "Support Section"). There you should be able to find all the drivers for your model laptop Check for registry issues Start the computer in safe mode and run System Restore If this didn't help you then simply get the Intel software partner reliable program "RegInOut" to fix these errors which causing black screen. Thanks
The best chance you have is to get your panel specifications and find a site where you can order the same panel. It isn't a simple unplug-replace-done process. It can be quite meddlesome. It would be much simpler to go to a repair shop where they have panels present for replacement.
