Hi,
The bearing may be going bad, but that should not effect the cooling much if the fan is running...there must be other problems...

Here is a tip for other things you can check....

Sounds like the bearings are shot in the motor. I'd replace the fan rather than mess with trying to rebuild/replace the motor. Newer fans use much more efficient motors than days gone by. BTW, that motor is probably drawing a ton of current working against the resistance of the bad bearings and driving your electric bill through the roof.

Very loud when fan is running

This is likely caused by a faulty blower motor bearings, or the fan has something in it or it could possibly have broken. Shut down power to unit, remove cover and inspect the fan shaft, blades, and spin it. it should freely spin. If it hangs up you likely have a bad blower motor.

Loud blower on my Coleman Furnace

Usually a noisy blower motor is a bad bearing. The motors now have oil impregnated bearings and you can't oil them, you have to replace them.

Fan outside isn't running and when turned on the unit outside is running very loud.

The fan outside keeps your compressor cool, the compressor, if left running without the fan running to cool it down can get damaged, the fan normally gets its power from a switch box located outside or near
it. or the motor on the fan could have just gone bad. the fan motor is not as expensive as the compressor to replace. its easy to replace. sometimes what goes out 1st on these motors is the capacitor, the capacitor stores enough voltage to give the motor that extra push to turn. many times its just the capacitor that goes out. when you purchase a motor make sure you also get the matching capacitor.if you can turn the fan and it starts running, its the capacitor, if it starts running and has any kind of bearing noise then you will have to replace the motor. good luck!

1. Disconnect the dimplex aircon from the power source.
2. Dismount the motor driving the fan from its mounting.
3. Mark the motor lead wires accordingly.
4. Disassemble the motor, and replace the bearings.
(Take note of the bearing number located at sides)
5. After replacing the bearings, assemble the motor,

You should be able to turn the fan motor freely by hand. If there is any resistance or the noise turning it by hand, then the fan motor is definitely bad. Is it a wall thermostat unit or manual controls? Wall thermostat, you can use a jumper wire from the 12+ terminal of the thermostat to the HG terminal and the fan should come on, if not, then the motor is bad.

Over heat cooling fan load noise remove and replace

A bearing more than likely has went bad causing your fan to stop properly cooling your unit. Replace with a compatible fan and you should be all set. Hope this helps.
