Question about Panasonic Video Cameras
We have problems with files recorded on a panasonic digital camera. We can only downalod them in asf format, and then cant play them as the codec is missing.
Would really appreciate it if someone could advise how to convert asf to wmv/avi/mpeg. Or explain where i get the missing codec and install it.
It is my parents camera, and they desperatly want to download the videos they have taken of the grandchildren.(Panasonic DVC NV-GS55)
Many thanks in advance
If you haven't already, download and install VLC media player. https://www.videolan.org/vlc/ It's free, open source and it plays most codecs with no codec packs needed. After that, just follow the instructions provided in the link below. https://features.en.softonic.com/vlc-media-player-as-video-converter

Try ejecting cassette whilst powered from AC Adaptor. Secondly, try operating Eject from powered off mode. If operation LED starts flashing after any of these attempts, the mechanism is probably jammed or has become mis-timed. Unfortunately this requires professional intervention to avoid further damage to your equipment.
I hope this information is of assistance!

SOURCE: I want to connect my
for downloading pictures only ..you can use the usb cable ..but first you have to install the usb driver that was provided with the camera
Run the driver ..and connect the camera when it asks for it ..Be sure you use teh camera plugged into the adapter ..cause any battery power lost ..can cause the card beying erazed during the transfer ..so use it plugged into the cord when downloading ....
For to download the videos you have to use the fire-wire cable ..and the manager that was provided...to be sure that the camera is seen on the computer ..you need all drivers installed (including for the fire-wire ..and this have to be enabled) ..
the easy way to download video is to transfer them on the card via the editing mode n the camera ..and get them from it with a card reader..
Here is a mode to import with the fire-wire cable using the windows movie maker...from a tape ..video..
