The reason why they do not want you to use an extension cord is because most people use the wrong gage cord for the use. You can use an extension cord as long as you use the right gage wire. If you are going to use one for the Freezer then you need to use one with 12 gage wire like what is in your house.

I hope this helps you and Good Luck

Correct just make sure you use a heave gage cord and do not get it to long. Try to just get the length you need.

freezers should never be on an extension cord . and it sounds like you might have burned the compressor up in doing so . call a local repair man or just replace the unit .

Replace burnt power cable

You can replace it with the average extension cord as most can hold up to 12 amps and your freezer will pull 2-5. Just cut the extension cord to length and cut before where the wires are burnt out. Strip wires and connect black to black, white to white and green to green. Marrett each section of wires and plug it in. If you use electrical tape to make a bundle with the Marretts afterwards that will make sure there is less of a chance the Marretts will fall off.

good luck

All I can offer for advice is to ask if it is on an extension cord. Is the freezer plug in good shape and not blistered? Make sure that the cord is a heavy enough gauge to carry the current needed to run the compressor. An extension cord can break down over time and cause the compressor to overheat or fail. Wish I could be more help. Good luck!

Used extension cord on freezer then it stopped getting cold.

never use a extension cord unless it is of a larger gauge wire size eg: #12. as opposed to standard #16 or #14. the compressor/motor will not get needed power and burns out.

I don't have any power...

use an extension cord and try another plug. I may also be in defrost let it set for at least 35 min to see if the defrost cycles next check your wall plug for a ground fault. I will be a little red or white button in the center of the wall plug and it pops just like a circuit breaker just push it in until it stays. good luck
