The freon could be low on it causing the coils not to get cold enough.

What model is it?

The above is the manual for the unit. I read over it and it seems like many other units

    made by Danby.

Is the water full light on? This will occur when the internal reservoir is full. It's recommended to use an external tank to extend times that the unit can work without having to empty the water out.

You can feel if the coils are getting cold with the back of your hand close to but not touching the coils (so if it's really cold you don't want to get stuck to the coil). They should be like 34 to 45 deg. F or so when operating correctly.

Make sure that the mode is on 'cool' and not 'fan' or 'dehumidify.'

One might press the 'reset' button on the remote to reset everything back to factory specs, including the 75 deg. F temperature setting.

Adjust this setting so that it's cooler than that for your comfort.

If all else fails, one might want to call the 1-800-26-DANBY phone # for assistance.

There is an 18 month limited warranty on the unit for manufacturer's defects assuming it was not treated badly in any way (i.e. electrical shutoff, surges, or mishandling of the product).

I noticed that it's still a current model.

I wish you luck in getting the Danby Portable Air Conditioner working properly.

Open the case, loosen the 2 screws holding the black plastic casingon the cooling tower over the CPU. Carefully remove, or tilt back to reveal cooling tower radiator and coil.
If there is a layer of dust built up (like there was on mine); carefully vacuum clean the radiator, cooling tower unit, fan and all other surrounding areas. Clean any residue from tower-to-CPU contact area.
Vacuum entire PC inside and out. Remove, reseat, vacuum video card. Reseat storage drive cables reseat the memory sticks, close it up and plug it back in start computer.

This unit probably need to be cleaned. Im in St. louis MO and its above 100 degrees with a heat index of 116 if your area is experiencing this kind of heat as we are there may be nothing wrong at all A/C units are designed up to 95 degrees when it get hotter than that the units never shut off till night fall.

There are a few things you can try.Close the vents half way in rooms your not using often too force more air to where you want it.

Inside coil and filter may be clogged or dirty.Change filter and clean coil with a degreaser spray, simple green works well mixed with water.

Thermostat location? is it in a common area like the living room.If not it should be there.

Air Conditoner not cooling entire room

I would guess by the question you posted that at one point this air conditioner DID cool the entire room. If that is in fact the case then chances are you have either 1. A dirty air filter, which can be found underneath the front grill of the unit, or 2. A dirty condenser coil, the coil found on the back of the unit, that is outdoors while the air conditioner is in the window. If this coil gets clogged up, then the proper heat transfer will not take place, and you will not get proper cooling. Hope this helps.
