goto run and type "compmgmt.msc"(without quotes) and select disc management if the dvd drive is showing below the hard disks means your dvd drive is working fine only thing you have to do is to right click on the CD-Rom 0 and change drive letter and paths to it
.if the CD ROM option is not seen in disk management then you have to go to the device manager option under computer management and expand cd/dvd -rom drives and you will find your dvd drive model if not that means that your dvd drive has got hardware problem

Where can i download an LG Internal 52x CD-ROM Driver ? My LG Internal 52x CD-ROM Driver was deleted with my computer system. The question is how can I restore it back ?

waltermeily

If you are running Windows XP or higher as your version of Windows then there is no driver needed as the drive has native support in the operating system.

If the drive is not showing up you may need to double check to see if you just need to resign the drive letter for the drive. If the drive is not showing up in disk management then this coudl be a sign of a problem with the drive its self.

I deleted win 95 then iwant to install win98

Indeed. If you have the windows 98 disc then just insert it into you CD rom drive and restart the computer. You should have the option of pressing any Key to boot from the CD. If not you need to hit delete a number of times when the machine 1st turns on to enter the Bios set up. In here you can change the boot order. Give your CD ROM drive the highest boot priority. Save & exit. Now you will have the option to boot from CD.

From here you are very much guided by the onscreen prompts. It's a straightforward process.

CD Rom Drive

Eveidently you disabled the CD from within control panel. I'm assuming you are familiar with windows, so I'm just going to give the buttons you press. Do the following:

Start(bottom left of screen)>Setting>Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager>DVD/CD Rom Drives +>Click on your CD and select use this device (enable) down in the bottom of the box.

Press OK and close all the boxes and see if the device appears in your safely remove hardware dialogue.

If not, go to HP.com, select downloads and find the driver for your CD and reinstal.

This should clear it up.

Good luck!!

Windows Xp Problem

if yu have a copy of win xp cd. what u do is insert it in yr cd rom drive then make sure yr first boot device is cd rom. now restat yr computer to boot from cd rom just as if u want to reinstall a new xp os but this time yu will chose the option "repair" on the second blue screen that will come out.
try this and all deleted files will be replaced..
NB: before yu start this process make sure yu back up yr important files to a diff drive say d: or possibly external drives incase things go wrong.
thank u
