Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. Yes I agree, they do mark up the price of components, I usually order through Digikey or Jameco. I picked this up for 5 bucks, Its a Audiovox, PVS21090, 9 inch ATSC receiver/DVD player. Nice size and once I get it going it will be great for in the kitchen or wherever needed...small and compact. I have, like you, been working on electronics since tubes were the only thing in town. Lived through transistors, IC's and LSI now so the industry has really changed over the years, only the electrons are still the same...holes not included...Grin... A schematic would really help.. Thanks again for taking the time to contact me...All the best from Georgia...

Your make and model number are not listed.Anyhow,I have tried to look up parts/schematics for flat screens and noone will even allow you access unless you are an authorized shop. You have to have an account set up just to access the information. Also, you sound like you have some electronic experience anyhow,I do also, but if you do not I will tell you that repair centers markup parts at least 20% when they do repairs.Good luck. Please write back though and at least tell me make and model and if you have electrical measuring equipment(multimeter or anything) and I'll see what I can do.Also HD or plasma and how old.

Most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. It's possible that it maybe a bad capacitor or transformer on the power supply board. Or, something simple like a fuse inside the TV.
But, I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet. I can only make guesses with the symptoms.

You have a few choices:

1. You can again try leaving the TV unplugged for 30 - 45 minutes so the TV can discharge and reset itself.
2. If by chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route.

3. If you have some electronic experience, purchase a Service Manual over the internet at . It will help you diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, schematics, test points, and part# lists. Usually, cost under $10. And most cases the new part cost less than $15 by searching on the internet with the part number.

4. Pay a TV shop to do the repairs. It maybe costly, but get an estimate of how much they will charge. That way you can decide if it worth repairing or replacing the whole TV.

I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.

AKAI 50'' Plasma PDP5006H Main Power Supply Board p/n LJ4400057A

I looked around for a power supply for you and turn up nothing. I see your problem. Nobody is selling. Best just to fix the board itself.
What I would do is get a Service Manual over the internet. is selling the Service Manual. Usually cost under $20. It will help you diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, schematics, test points, and part number lists. And most cases the new part cost less than $15 by searching on the internet with the part number.
It's possible that it's just a bad capacitor or transformer on the power supply board. Cheaper than replacing the board.
I hope I solve the problem for you.

Mitsubishi ws-48613 no power

It seems problem of weak capacitors in power supply and deflection board.
If you have little experience of TV repair and good soldering skills, then check above said boards for weak capacitors.
You also need to have service manual of WS48613 which can be obtained from Manual Zone.
Service manual has schematics and technical information of TV to help in repair.

Can someone please direct me to a free service manuals that's actually free.

Good day.
With regards to your problem, try to isolate the issue first. the fuse blows? this means that something is shorted in the power supply circuitry. Could be the regulator IC, diodes or capacitors.
You can likewise download the diagram you need through the links posted on

This looks like a problem with the H Voltage or switching power supply section of the TV set. What you need to do is to measure the voltage from the HV transformer to the Anodes of the CRTs with a high voltage probe, and check the voltage output of the switching power supply. What may have happened is a component may have shorted out causing an over-current condition with is triggering the shutdown circuit (These are the relays you are hearing). I would check the Horizontal Output transistor or a driver transistor, and the components in that section of the TV.

In addition check the voltage test points on the HV / Horizontal and switching power supply board. This will determine if the section is working or not (most likely not). Make sure you have a schematic, and multimeter and a high voltage probe.   Since you have checked most of the common Items I am leaning towards one of the fuses in the system, I would suggest getting a schematic since switching power supplies can be tricky. Trust me I remember the days when a tech could find a fuse on a board easily, those days are gone some fuses even look like ICs now they are called digital fusible devices.   try to get a schematic for your set
I hope this helps,
Thank you,
