Battery packs are made up of a number or c batteries that are rechargable. when one gets weak or bad it may still work but not as good. you can repair battery packs but you only save a few dollars for all the agrivation. the new ion batteries have a mini computer in them to talk to the charger. if that goes bad that's it.

My 7.2 v drill won't charge

If your drill is old and has had a lot of use, it may be that the battery has had a full life and just needs to be replaced. Batteries will only take so many charges and then will quit holding a charge.

I have a Ryobi 18v drill with battery 130429002 that will not hold a charge. Expensive battery with very little use. Can you help?

If both batteries won't hold a charge the problem may be the charger (not providing a full charge). If one battery is OK and one not holding a charge, the problem is probably a defect with the battery. I know there expensive, (I recently had to replace one for DeWalt).

The drill is on the base but the battery lights are not coming on and it won't charge. It has been on the charger all night and hasn't charged at all. It worked fine up until now. I've only had it for...

You should check first using multitester, the voltage that comes out of the drill charger. if the stress is normal in accordance Battery voltage required by the drill, the damage there is on these batteries, the batteries serve targeted cell is damaged or broken connections between cells in these battrey. so the charger can not charge battery, indicator lights would not light up.

The drill has stopped charging up. No obvious

It may be the charger, but most likely the battery can no longer hold a charge. This may happen if the battery drops below its holding charge. Example, left discharge for a couple months. There is little that can go wrong with a charger unless you start smelling burnt plastic from it.

Craftsman cordless drill won't work even after charging battery.

Try working the switches Low/High, Forward/Reverse. Sometimes, the battrey can hang up a bit in the charger, resulting in a low, or no charge. Try a different battery, or recharge your existing battery, making sure that it is firmly seated in the charger.

Can a bad ryobi 18 drill ruin a new 18volt ryobi battery

If the drill has a short in it, then yes, it could short the battery out. Probably in the trigger switch.
