I add music through windows browser, like the users manual says. While it is hooked up to the computer, I can see the files. When I disconnect it and go to play the files, it says NAND!! NO FILES. I have tried every which way I can think of to get this to work, I have formatted it, searched for different drivers, etc.

I had the same problem, just take it out and put it back in, or maybe even blow into you mp3's usb port or you computers usb port. Also make sure it's plugged in all the way.

This is Kamunitsu. For Your GPX Audio Player-SD/MMc card in a memory card that slides in the side of your player. SD Translated as origin, (Side Card) Select Option: GPX Audio Player. And make sure that the code (or) storage type located in the memory file of your guide, make sure your player supports that file. The supported media player file and your GPX player file have to match in size, length, and Type.

This player only works as the manual suggests if you use Windows Media Player 10. It is not compatible with iTunes. If you have Windows Media Player 11, there are detailed instructions on how to get it working right on GPX's website.

If you are using Windows Vista with Windows Media Player 11, you will need to follow these instructions.
Note: You will be able to download purchased/subscribed songs to the unit - not from iTunes

1. Start Windows Media Player 11 and then connect your unit to your computer. If you have not set up synchronization between your computer and this device, the Device Setup Wizard starts.
2. In Device Setup - Configure Sync, write a name for your mp3 player.
3. Click Finish. The window closes and the Sync feature in the Player is displayed.
4. From the left pane of this Sync feature, you can select from Playlists or Library and you will see the content of these folders in the center pane.
5. Select the songs or entire albums from the center pane.
6. Drag these songs or albums into the Sync List, which is the right pane of the Sync feature.
7. Click the Start Sync button on the Sync List pane.
8. Repeat steps 4-7 for any other items that you want to copy to your unit.

Why does it say error when i put on song onto my gpx mp3 player?

sEVERAL POSSIBILITIES:
* You downloaded protected music on your Windows 98/98SE, Windows 2000, Windows XP computer using Windows Media Player 9. Music was purchased online or the music was ripped form your own audio CD with Copyright Protection turned ON.
o You must use Windows XP and Windows Media Player 10 for online purchased songs.
o You must turn OFF Copy Protection on your Windows Media Player 9 before ripping your audio CDs into WMA files
* You downloaded protected music to your MP3 player using your Windows XP computer and Windows Media Player 10 with your player in USB mode. Music was downloaded from the internet, purchased or subscribed, or it was ripped from your own audio CD with Copyright protection turned ON.
o You have to use your MW3836 in MTP mode.

I got a gpx MW3836 1gb mp3 player. i cant get any music on there from my wondows media player lists. my playlists songs might have been copy rights protected on it. i want toknow how to get my play lists...

Converting wma's to mp3 costs money unless you are getting the songs from an actual CD. Better to get an mp3-only music service like Limewire, Rhapsody Mp3, etc.

If you are using Windows Vista with Windows Media Player 11, you will need to follow these instructions.
Note: You will be able to download purchased/subscribed songs to the unit.

If you are using Windows XP with Windows Media Player 10, you will need to follow these instructions.
Note: You will be able to download purchased/subscribed songs to the unit.

1. Start Windows Media Player 10 and then connect your unit to your computer. If you have not set up synchronization between your computer and this device, the Device Setup Wizard starts.
2. In the Device Setup Wizard, select Manual.
3. Click Finish. The wizard closes and the Sync feature in the Player is displayed.
4. Select the Library option. On the left pane select Sync List.
5. From the left pane you can select All Music or My Playlists and you will see the songs located within these folders in the center pane.
6. Select the songs from the center pane, and drag them to the Sync List.
7. Click the Start Sync button on the Sync List pane.
8. Repeat steps 4-7 for any other items that you want to copy to your unit.

Problem with mp3

You can switch your player between USB and MTP mode only if your player is connected to Windows XP machine and Windows Media Player 10. When the player is connected to your Windows XP machine, pressing the M button on your player will switch your player between USB and MTP mode.
