Its 80GB, serial number 8K819LC2Y5N

Hi Katherine,

While having a quick look, a brand new device would sell for around AUD$30-$50 (Un-Opened). Since this device is a little dated and it has depreciated a fair amount. A price for a used device would be around $10-$30. If you keep it for a while longer it may become a collectors item.

I hope this helps.

What generation this iPod is serial number 1A009QC075J

iPods come in a variety of generations and models, including the nano, Classic and Touch. Depending on your model you may be able to record video, play games or watch television.
If you're unsure of your device's model, you can determine which iPod you have by using your serial number.
After determining your model, you can find out which features and capabilities your iPod has.

Go to Apple's official website (see Link Below) and click the Support tab.
Click the Online Service Assistant link, which is located in the Support Services menu on the right side of the screen.
The Service and Repair page will open.
Find your iPod's serial number.
This is engraved somewhere on the back of your iPod, either on the body of the device or on the clip.
You can also find it in your iPod's About screen by clicking Settings and selecting About (or General followed by About on an iPod Touch).
Enter your iPod's serial number and click the "Continue" button.
Your iPod model and generation will be displayed at the top of the screen.
With each new generation of the iPod Touch, you get new features and updates to the older generation.
The 2nd and 3rd generation iPod Touches are very similar in physical appearance.
The easiest way to determine what generation of iPod Touch you have is to check the model number on the back of the device.
The 2nd and 3rd generation iPod Touches were given unique model numbers to help distinguish your device generation.
Remove any protective case from the iPod Touch so you can see the back of the device.
Locate the model number at the bottom of the back of the device.
Check the model number against the following model numbers.
Third generation iPod Touches are model number "A1318." Second generation iPod Touches are model number "A1288."

Grants 8-track tape player schematic?

Grants was simply the retailer for that unit, and not the manufacturer. It may well be that, possibly with minor cosmetic variances, the seame device was sold by other retailers such as K-Mart, Jamesyay, and so forth. So... in order to have a chance at obtainiong a schematic, it would help to know the device manufacturer.

Becasue the device is an electronic device manufactured for sale in the USA, it would have been required to meet FCC specifications regarding radiated signal attenuation. AS such, it should have an FCC Device ID number on the equipment somewhere. The FCC Device ID number can often be used to identify the manufacturer and sometimes the manufacturer's design or model number.

Broken IC

Did the Sony service station say they can fix it? I would have Sony fix it for you at what ever the cost. It will be cheaper than buying a new player. If it cost more than 50% buy a new player and throw the broken one away. What IC"? Are you talking about an Integrated Circuit? Unless you have the "exact" part number, we can not help you. Even if you have the correct part number, they might not be easy to get or find. Then how are you going to repair it? Do you have the correct soldering iron and equipment? This is not what you want to heard but I would do the first thing I suggested.
