If there is light on handle but the electrolux is not starting then the handle switch needs to be checked and its connections. The vacuum cleaner is operated by the controls on the handle. The handle has different switches which change how the vacuum cleaner operates. The lower switch has three settings which turn on the vacuum cleaner. The lowest setting turns the power off. The middle setting starts the suction action of the vacuum cleaner. The upper setting starts the suction action of the vacuum cleaner and operates the power nozzle. Use the upper setting only if you are using the power nozzle on a carpet.

The upper switch changes the amount of suction from the vacuum cleaner. Place the switch in the lowest position for the highest suction, the middle position for medium suction, and the highest position for the lowest suction.
Check the controls and switch.

How is the belt on the power head replaced?

Well u would have to give me a brand manufacturer name or some thing but with almost all vacuums there are either tabs or screws on the top of upright or bottom of floor tool on sweepers. All you should have to do is remove screws to access belt, then pull out the brush and that should be it.

Power head does not work canister does . There is voltage at the power head.

Although it could be a multitude of things that keep the power nozzle from operating properly, the most likely is, since it's an Epic series, Is that the power nozzle elbow assembly needs replaced as the fine wires and top of the elbow tend to break/short after 5-10 yrs. of use.
It's also very well possible that the power nozzle reset switch or hose switch at top of handle is defective. Try plugging the power nozzle directly into the hose handle assembly and turn machine on. If the power nozzle still doesn't work, it's definitely a problem directly with the power nozzle.

Hope that helps!

Does anyone know how to get the bottom off the electrolux Epic 3500 SR I need to check the beater brush? Thanks Jim

Actually the top comes off from the bottom base. Remove the underside screws, flip the machine over and gently remove the gray cover from the motor and brush assembly. Once inside, remove two more screws holding down the brush cover which is also part of the tunnel. It will reveal the brush, belt, and much dirt so be prepared.

Uprightvac 3500SA roller is not turning

When you lower the handle on the electrolux, you will see a little button on the top of the base . This is a reset button, turn the vaccum on and push the resrt button and it should start working again.

Sorry I didn't see this sooner. Your problem may be solved as simply as pushing the small red reset button exposed on top of the power head when you tilt the arm back. Very simple. Hope this helps.

Electrolux Epic 8000

YES,JUST TAKE OFF THE HEPA FILTER.
IF I MAY SUGGEST,IF YOU WANT TO BUY AN AREUS/ELECTROLUX YOU MAY WANT TO LOOK AT THEIR "BOTTOM OF THE LINE" MACHINE, THE "CLASSIC" IT'S HALF THE PRICE AND A MUCH BETTER DESIGN THEN THE NEW "FLAGSHIP" MODEL, WHICH IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THAN ANY PAST ELECTROLUX. IT'S BULKY,AWKWARD TO USE. EVEN IF YOUR BUYING FROM ANOTHER SOURCE, GO INTO AN AERUS DEALER AND GIVE THEM A TEST DRIVE.
I CLEAN APARTMENTS FOR A LIVING AND AM VERY FAMILIAR WITH ALL ELECTROLUX MODELS.
GOOD LUCK!
