Subwoofer not working.... JVC surround sound system 778V Subwoofer Part Number SP-PW37-SUB I hear a hum coming from unit so there's power going to it. I hear weak bass thumps with volume turned all the way...

A connectivity check could provide the solution, notice any wrong wire connections on device or any other devices requiring interconnection. The woofer would perform properly when the connections that provide current for woofing are approapiate

important notes
1. Trace the connection from Recorder or sound output to the woofer device
2. The wiring connections should be sound and video ouput into sound and video output into woofer.
3. The connections if any problems would be located at the stereo recorder or device producing the spund and video. Check the connections of wires on the recorder device ensuring rewiriing
4. finally, adjust the equalisers if any the buttoms could have been disbled by master switch hindering full blaster boost sound.

Sansui 2000x Phone 1 and 2 inputs produce garbled sounds.

I imagine everything is also VERY LOUD.

Only a Phono (old school turntable) should be plugged into the Phono inputs. It contains a preamp for the tiny signal provided by a Phono cartridge, plus is alters the frequency response drastically to compensate for the RIAA curve applied when they cut the record from tape.

Cannot get all speakers to work at once!!

It could be that every sound has its recording style, some record the sound to just left or right only(mono left or mono right) some has stereo, recorded on left and right. Some have induced additional sound that only surround sound is best at.

Or some base on signal strength, some cut or boost only to the level it is set to appear.

Hello!
im affraid to answer your question because in most cases you will rate me " thanks for trying" it hurt me but it's ok because i want to help you.

First install the driver of your "sound blaster X-Fi extreme audio notebook card" the Utility cd is enclosed in it. after that Hook your speaker to the output of the newly installed card. and then go to control panel , double click the "sounds and audio devices" and then in the "audio tab" and in sound playbak. select the device according to your sound card.

You can adjust some setting there and click ok.

may this solve your problem.

Yamaha Receiver R-700 Input & Recout switches cut out!

I have 2 of the same receivers. One works perfect and the other had the same problem as you describe. The faulty one I brought to work to use. Since I wasn't planning on recording anything I desoldered both swithces and swapped them. The REC OUT switch is a 6 pos SW, and the INPUT is only a 5 pos SW, but it works. Now my sound doesn't cut out any more and I have a receiver for work.
