Remove batts, Check battery connector, fuse and batt volts, if you have dummy load (car headlight etc) check batts are working and measure voltage under load.

Also check if UPS needs to be told there are new batts read manual or check support for maker.

Let me know what you find, hope this helps

Troubleshooting back-up malfunction after replacing battery. Checked main power supply breaker and battery power supply fuses for continuity. What should I try next?

Depending on the type of unit, you do not state any model. It may require 6-8 hours of being plugged in and turned off before the battery has enough charge that the ups will turn on.

Standby power does not work

The question is confusing. What did you replace the battery in, the battery back up power supply or the transmitter? The 300MC is just the transmitter and changing that battery has nothing to do with whether the main power unit will function if you unplug it. Now, if you replaced the large battery in the opener itself, it needs to fully charge before it will function properly so give it about 24 hours to charge with the power cord plugged in and then try again. It should work IF you attached the wires to the CORRECT terminals on the battery, positive to positive and negative to negative. If you did not, reverse them, allow the battery to charge 24 hours plugged in and try again. If you installed it in reverse there is a chance you fried the circuit board and that means you will not be able to use the backup feature although the opener may function normally without it.

follow this steps and fix it. God bless you
Plug the battery backup into a working electrical outlet. If the battery backup turns on when the power button is pressed, then the problem may be that the previous electrical outlet is faulty. Proceed to step three. If the battery backup doesn't turn on, proceed to step two.
  • 2 Reset the circuit breaker on the battery backup. APC battery backups have a labeled circuit breaker button located on the unit near the phone line, fax line, USB, network and coaxial cable inputs. Press the button to reset the circuit breaker. Power on the battery backup by pressing the power button. If the battery backup powers on, proceed to step three. If the battery backup doesn't turn on, proceed to step six.

  • 3 Determine if the battery backup is charged and providing battery power. With the battery backup on and plugged into a working electrical outlet, plug a computer monitor into one of the battery backup outlets labeled "battery backup plus surge protection" on the battery backup. (APC power supplies have some outlets that provide only surge protection while the other outlets provide surge protection plus battery backup.) Turn the monitor on. Unplug the battery backup power cord from the wall outlet. If the monitor remains on, the battery is holding a charge, supplying electrical power and the battery backup is working properly. If the monitor goes off, proceed to step four.
  • 4 Charge the battery. Plug the battery backup into an electrical outlet and allow the battery to charge for 16 hours. This will fully charge the battery.
  • 5 Test battery charge. Once the battery is fully charged, repeat step three. If the monitor stays on when power is interrupted to the battery backup, the issue is solved and the problem resulted from an incompletely charged battery. If the monitor turns off when power is interrupted, the battery within the battery backup is faulty and needs to be replaced.
  • 6 Replace the battery backup unit. The unit itself is faulty. If the battery backup is under warranty, contact APC to request a replacement.

Change the backup battery in MC9060

Hello mis1539. I think I can help you here. First: are you sure the backup battery is defunct? Bear in mind that the backup battery takes about 15 hours to fully charge and will discharge if the main battery or power source is disconnected or goes completely dead for anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours. If the backup battery discharges, the process starts all over and the backup battery will need to be charged for 15 hours again. If you think the backup battery may have discharged at some point, it could be that it never full re-charged so it will discharge and lose your settings (cache/flash memory) almost instantly. It is worth mentioning that about 95% of my clients that have this problem have fixed it by simply making sure that the unit is in it's cradle, with the battery in and charging overnight to fully recharge the backup. Again, I really would implore you to give this a shot before resorting to cracking open the unit and getting to the backup battery (which is no fun task, I assure you). If this doesn't work for you, please let me know and I can help you further. I hope this solves your problem. Good luck!

My MPC t2300 laptop wom't turn on.

The Transport T2300 has an internal battery that will run the laptop for several minutes after the main battery goes dead. This feature allows you to save your work and shut down safely. If you run the laptop until both batteries are dead, even a brand new battery can't start the unit again. You have to follow this procedure:
    1.Unplug power cord

    2. Remove any attached periphal components including the cd rom and/or floppy disk module if you have one. Both remove with a push button switch located on the bottom of the unit.

    3. Plug in power cord and charge the unit for a minimum of 24 hours straight. 30 hours is better. This whole time will be spent slowly recharging the internal back up battery.

    4. Once that is done, unplug power cord again and reinstall any floppy/cd drives. Plug power cord back in now and charge for at least 24 hours again.

If your backup battery is dead, you can't charge the main battery or turn the unit on. The longer you charge, the better. We had one unit here that had to be on the initial battery backup for 72 hours before it finally took hold. Then, one overnight recharge on the regular battery and all was well.
If you need drivers or manuals for the 2300, all are available on cd at mpcsupport@cox.net for around $9.50 including shipping, handling, and owners manual

    UPS

    Hi,

Depending on your location, phone line voltages are not suitable to charge the battery nor supply the current requirement of a UPS.

A car battery would work as long as the voltage is identical to the UPS' original battery. It is just the ampere/hour rating that only increased and therefore the usable time likewise increased.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
