Go to start>settings>control panel>administrative tools>services.

SOURCE: HP PSC1410 wont print and shows offline

I had the same problem. This is what worked for me: I went to the HP website and downloaded the hp Print Diagnostic Utility. Found the problem and fixed it in no time (device manager I believe)... worked beautifully. Hope this helps :-)

SOURCE: I can not print

You could try to use static ip to remove possible problems with dns retrieving:

  • Set the machine to static ip (Menu -> Network -> WLAN -> Boot Method -> Static).
  • Check the ip number on the machine (Menu -> Network -> WLAN -> IP address)
  • On your PC, go to Control Panel -> Printers
  • Right-click printer, choose Properties
  • Choose Ports and click "Add Port"
  • Double-click on Standard TCP/IP, follow the guide and type in your IP number earlier retrieved.
  • Save settings, press OK and the problem could be solved (if it was due to dns problems).
Also, if it works, you can change the network settings for scanner driver to go to ip address too instead of dns, even if it isn't a problem right now, it could later be.

SOURCE: Printer keeps pausing itself!!

By UI do you mean RUI (Remote User Interface)? Have you installed a network kit? If so did you upgrade firmware using SST? If not, you need to do this or printing won't work.

In service mode. Copier > Display > Version > PS/PCL there needs to be a number e.g. 30.06. If there is no number the copier does not have any print drivers on it and won't be able to print. You also need to have a N BOOT-ROM (included in network kit). There Should be a N next to the number for BOOT-ROM under Copier > Display > Version if a N BOOT-ROM is installed.

SOURCE: printer status says offline, and we can not print on laptop

Hi!
If you're offline with the printer, you definitely won't be able to print.

I'm assuming you're using Windows XP here. Most Windows products will be similar...

On the laptop, click on the Start button, then Settings, then Printers and Faxes. Find your printer in the list, right-click on it and click "Use Online" or uncheck the "Offline" box.

Good luck! Remember to rate the solutions!

My printer bkeeps showing offline & won't print. I've used the troubleshooter & it says the printer is turned off but it's not. I've tried turning it off & back on, unplugging & replugging...

Sometimes a printer will go to work offline and not realize its still offline when you turn printer back on.
If you can see a printer icon in your tray (bottom right) then double click it and you see a windows similar to the one screen shot below and click on "printer" menu and uncheck "use printer offline".
If that still doesn't work then delete the job in the queue and try to print again.btthr_0.jpg

Minolta Magicolor 3100 ... Printer sayes its online and ready to print. When i send a print job it spools it ok but when it goes to print it goes offline. I delete the print job and the printer is back...

Does the printer show any message on it's display ?

Most common problem with these printers is the driver setting (mostly media type/weight) conflicting with the settings made via the front panel menu's.

Our HP 3100 All in One printer is "offline" when we check in the Control Panel under "printers". How do we get it back online?

Under printers, On the Hp 3100 model, right click on it, if it shows Use Printer Online then select that Option. Else if it shows "Use Printer Offline" it means to say that your printer is online.
Also check that whether the Power is On to the printer. Communication cable is connected. Proper printer port is selected.

You should check the status of your printer.
It should be ready not paused or offline.

Was printing fine but now when I send something to print, the printer doesn't respond at all and just shows the "ready" screen

Is it connected directly to your PC, or is it networked?
In your printer dialog box, does the printer say "ready"? it may be "Paused" or "offline". Right click and select "resume Printing", and/or "use printer online"
Are you sure the cable is still connected and working?
try removing and reinstalling driver.

Dell 3100cn Printer

Hi Lillie,

No, the message for RAM disk has nothing to do with your issue. RAM disk is an option for that printer, but most users do not have that option, and if you accessed the menu for the 3100 on most of the machines in use you would receive that same error.

Although the printer itself shows " ready to print", this does not mean that your computer is communicating with the printer. In Fact, that message would show up even if you did not have it attached to any computer, as long as it was turned on and passed the self test.

More then likely the problem lies within the computer, NOT the printer.

To test the printers functionality, try printing a menu item, from the "reports" menu. Select either the printer settings, or the PCL Fonts report. When selected, the printer should print which ever report you selected.

One thing you may want to check is to see if there are any print jobs " locked up " in the print spooler on your computer, and also make sure that the printer is not set to "work offline".

To do this, open the control panel, go to your "printers" folder, then double click on your printer.
This will open up the printer information for that printer. If there are any jobs in the print queue, they will show up here.

if there are any print jobs stacked up, usually it is the top job that had a problem and is "stuck". This will prevent any job sent after that to be held, pending release of that one.

single click the top job and either restart the job, or delete it.

Also, make sure that the printer is not set to work offline by clicking on "printer" from the menu and ensure that work offline is not checked.

Good luck.

Try this. Go to Start, Printers and Faxes, right click on your printer. When the menu opens make sure there is NOT a check mark next to "Use Printer Offline".
