When I turn on tv, i get blue light at bottom but no sound, no picture. I tried to get to the menu because it is always in use for video games but no luck. Before this occurred, the tv had a 4 inch wide line going down the screen on the right hand side of tv screen. Any help?

You probably have some bad electrolytic capacitors on the power supply module. The caps will be bulged or mushroomed at the top rather than flat if they need to be replaced. Parts are very inexpensive. I've fixed many of these sets by replacing bulged caps on the power supply for having same symptom of yours. That would be the first place I would start. A repair shop would probably get between $100-$150 to replace these parts if you wanted go that route.

Tv picture wont turn on

Press the menu button if the menu does not come up then the issue is with the tv. If the menu does come up , try a second source such as a dvd player or a game system. you may need to change the channel on the tv or the input to get video and sound.

a panasonic tv will shut down after a short time with no video input. it sounds like the setup menu in the receiver has defaulted and needs to be setup again to coordinate the audio and video signals. ive seen many yamaha menus default. dont let geeks in your house.

The Yamaha RX-V463 AV does not playsound from the blue ray player

"I am also having difficulties in try to display the yamaha set up menu on the tv."
According to the manual the display menu for TV will not work with HDMI hook up.
I also have a Panasonic HD TV and can't get TV sound through my Yamaha AVR on "TV Sound" mode.  Trying to use HDMI cable for this also.  Do I need a digital optical cable or do I not have something set right?

Hdtv-dlp has no sound or picture

this sounds like a dmd board problem. these are digital modules attached to the light engines usually. samsung, rca, hitachi, have shown similiar symptoms. some units have capacitors on the boards that can be replaced, but these are dual-layer pcb's that are tough to unsolder without proper soldering iron temperature and good small gauge solder-wick. or solder pump tool. the electolytic caps. are usually 1000uf / 10v, 330uf / 10v, or 470uf / 10v. alot of the time the capacitors will "vent" or swell-up on top which helps spot faulty component. we always increase voltage rating to 16v-25v for more reliable operation. always use 105 degrees high- temperature replacement caps.

WII CONSOL

When you turn the Wii on, and the light goes from red or orange to green, press A a few times (this would be to get through the warning/safety screen) then wait a minute. Then when you wave your remote about, you will feel it vibrating as it goes over the channel icons on the wii menu screen. Plus a blue light will be lit at the bottom of the remote to denote player 1.

If all of this happens, it is just a lead or TV input issue. If these things do NOT happen, the Wii is broke and needs fixing by Nintendo!

Also, check the refresh rate on your television an make set to be compatible. That may also cause a picture not to show up.
