Well the only moving part on that side is a fan motor it must be the cause. You can remove the inside panal to check it out. Maybe it's some ice or a popcycle stick.

I have an Admiral top=freezer refrigerator model LTF2112AR. Suddenly, this evening, the motor in the back of the freezer began making continuous noises, it sounds like a grinding noise, but it is still...

Is the compressor making the noise or is it the fan motor that is making the noise. If the compressor then you are looking at over $500 for replacement and you will have to decide if your refrigerator is worth that type of investment.

But if it is the fan motor, then you could replace it yourself. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5170333 Item 11 is the fan motor and you could replace it. The compresson is item 1 and would require a trained person to replace it.

The unit is making a short cranking noise.

Sounds like the freezer fan motor to me.
Open the freezer door.
Push in and hold the light switch on the door and listen for the noise.
It will probably be at the back of the freezer where the fan motor is located.
Could be a motor going bad or a ice buldup around rge motor blades.

GE Refrigerator GSS201EPWW is making a loud noise

This is the fan motor making noise but the fan motor is probably ok. The main board supplies voltage to the motor and can cause it to make strange noises.

Hi, Remove the rear inside freezer panel and you will be able to see the evaporator fan motor. The fan motor is what is squeeling.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Evaporator Motor & Fan

hi,

you can try to completely defrost the fridge by unplugging it for a day and put you groceries in another fridge, sometime ice dams build up in those and freeze next to the fan blades and cause alot of noise, if its squealing, then its the motor for sure, evaporator motors are usually pretty easy to replace once you study where its at, usually the whole top or bottom and back of freezer has to come out then the motor and fan are right there, keep the fan blade assembly because you put that on the new motor, be extremely careful once you have the bottom and sides out because the coils will be vulnerable to anything if you hit them go to www.sears.com and go to parts area, theres a sears repair store in our town , hopefully in yours or just call around, dont forget to unplug it! hope that helps

Fridge problem

Hi. The most common failure for this make refrigerator is a bad evaporator fan motor. You should feel air coming out of the diffuser in your freezer. If not, either the fan motor is bad or you have alot of frost build up on the evaporator. You would see alot of frost on the back wall of the freezer where the evaporator coil is located. If this is the case, most likely the defrost bimetal thermostat. But if no frost, the evaporator fan motor is most common and likely to be your problem. Visit me on Ebay username: themackshack. Good luck! Mack

LG refrigerator makes loud noise and then stops running.

You are seriously frozen up. Defrost the unit completely. Then, be aware that 'window shopping', leaving uncovered liquids in the box and poor door sealing (too heavy a load on the door ... too much on shelves) can cause condensation. Defrost with hot air or leave unplugged and open for about 2 days. You'll see alot of water come out.
