Question about Primera Technology Bravo CD Publisher (62725) CD-RW Burner
I have a Primera Bravo Disk Publisher and the DVD burner has suddenly stopped working. I've read in other forums about a firmware flash that can fix it, but I'm not sure what this involves exactly.
Also the firmware version for the Drive isn't the latest, but as it suddenly stopped working I'm unsure if it is a firmware issue. I've got the latest firmware, but it says the drive must be connected directly to the 2nd IDE cable, the issue is the drive is connected to a F/W cable in the unit so I presume I'd need to remove the drive from the machine. This isn't a problem, just a bit of a pain.
I've enquired with Primera and a repair shop about replacement drives and they've said it has to be the same drive and as they're IDE drives they're not manufactured anymore. Has anyone replaced the drives in one before?
The cost of repair that I've been quoted is very expensive, almost more than I paid for the unit and if it's just the drive I'm sure I can replace it myself.
