It is possible that your tuner module has some dry solder/weak joints that is causing the fault. Open as before and look into the board very carefully to see if there is any weak spot. Use a good solderring iron to touch up all the suspect areas but be very careful and do not try this if not familiar to solder as it might turn serious. Hence you can ask an electronic technician to check on this and solder up the chroma/processing stages and reset. If this does not solve the issue , the fault could be failure of the concerned IC. Confirm and replace carefully. Hope you get this right.Good day

Samsung DLP R&R Color wheel Model #HLR5078w

Samsung's digital light projection (DLP) televisions use a spinning color wheel to create the colors that are seen on the screen. If the color wheel becomes misaligned during use, it will become damaged and have to be replaced. Replacing the color wheel on a Samsung DLP television can be done at home, once a compatible-sized color wheel has been bought from a TV supply store.Replacing the color wheel yourself will void any Samsung warranty that might be in place, but is the only solution for getting the TV working again in as short a time as possible.
Put on the anti-static grounding strap to keep static electricity from damaging the internal components of the Samsung DLP TV. Turn the Samsung around so that the back is facing you. Make sure the Samsung is unplugged from the AC socket.
2
Use the Phillips screwdriver to remove all of the screws from the back panel. Put the screws aside. Pull off the back panel.
3
Loosen the two screws from each side of the projection bulb's case. Pull the projection bulb out. Put the projection bulb aside. Use the Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws from the left side panel. Pull the side panel and the circuit board attached to it out carefully and put it down so that the cables attached to it have not been pulled out.
4
Take a picture of the power cable's position with the digital camera so that you can put it back correctly later. Pull the power cable out from inside of the Samsung's case so that the center panel is free to be pulled out. Remove the two large headed screws from the center panel with the Phillips screwdriver. Remove the top two screws holding the panel to the plastic case using the Phillips screwdriver.
5
Slowly slide the center unit out a few inches. Take a picture of the projector lens' positioning with the digital camera so that you can put it back correctly later. Unplug the two cables from the left side of the center panel. Unscrew the sensor switch using the Phillips screwdriver. Slide the center panel completely out of the Samsung and put it down on the clean cloth. Blow off the color wheel assembly with the compressed air.
6
Use the tweezers to remove the green plug from the top of the color wheel cover. Use the tweezers to remove the two cables at the side that are coming from the color wheel. Use the Phillips jeweler's screwdriver to remove the screws from the top, front and back of the color wheel cover. Slide the color wheel cover straight up to expose the color wheel.
7
Use the Phillips screwdriver to remove the three screws holding the color wheel to the color wheel assembly. Lift the color wheel up and out of the color wheel assembly and discard it.
8
Position the replacement color wheel in the color wheel assembly. Reassemble the color wheel and reassemble the color wheel assembly. Put the color wheel assembly back into position in the rear of the Samsung DLP TV. Reassemble the Samsung DLP TV. Plug the Samsung DLP TV back in for power. Turn the Samsung on and enjoy seeing the colors displayed properly again now that you have replaced the color wheel.

You can't adjust this. Your convergence amplifiers are bad and must be replaced. $250-$350 by repair shop.

Blurry Philips TV model # 51PW936317F

The coolant will become congealed in Phillipd rear projections and the color will get very dim and hard to focus. You can get the coolant replace kit at the following link which contains the coolant for all 3 tubes and step by step instructions om CD. Heres a link to the kit.

Color not as bright and clear

I stumbled upon this problem by accident... I took the front cover off my sony 57" so I could see if replacing the red IC Convergence circuit would be difficult to fix myself ( I am inclined enough, but thats not our point here )

I looked up at the mirror which projects the image from your bulbs to your screen and saw the tops of my bulbs were absolutely coated with dust......

I took some toilet paper ......(Paper towels are too rough-at leats the ones I had at the time) and dampened it with windex and softly clenaed the bulbs...dont be in a hurry. You can make it easier to see what your doing if you use the mirror for guidance rather than guessing if you got all the dust off.

I can assure you if you never cleaned those bulbs they need it...

The color on my TV was soooooo much more vivid after I cleaned the bulbs.....

Usually the front panels are only held on by 4-6 phillips screws-and you may have to unplug the wires going to your speakers so you can get the panel out of your way.......they simply unplug

I am not sure exatly how the front panel comes off your model ( NOT THE SCREEN-THE PLASTIC SECTION UNDER IT). I can assure you if you take your time ANYONE can do this.........Remeber be easy and do not overwet the paper towels/toilet paper......

Any questions get back to me...

Messed up

Probably the convergence board.

First, try resetting the TV by unplugging it for 30 seconds and replugging it.

Does the problem exist on both cable/sat and an external source like a dvd player/vcr?

Go to www.usasupport.philips.com and enter 60pp9200 as your model number - click on the link for the "Quick Start" Guide - read p 8 on manual convergence - if the manual convergence fails, then your convergence board is bad.
