I need to know how to hook my DVD player to ,y Samsung TV. I have it hooked up and have a picture but its in black and white.

look on the back of the television and the DVD player, there should be a SCART socket and/or red, white and yellow AV sockets, either use a SCART lead and connect it to the SCART on the DVD player and the TV.Or use an AV lead with 3 auxiliary shape connectors and match the colour of each connector with the female sockets on both the TV and the DVD player instead of using the other component connections.

Connect a dvd player to my tv

on the back of your dvd player and tv - you should have what's called scart sockets. Most dvd players come with a scart lead - you just have to plug one end of the lead into the back of your dvd player labelled tv, then the other end into your tv.

DVD is playing but no sound is coming out. Where do you put the video cords from the player to the TV. We have an older Sharp tv

What is the model of your DVD Player? and does your old Sharp TV have jack plugs in the back to accept audio leads.

Normally you would connect a Scart lead from the DVD player to the back of your Sharp TV.

If your Sharp TV is so old that it does not have a Scart Socket then you may have to use an RF lead running from the RF out Socket from your DVD player to your Sharp TV!

Hi i have an alba tv , im trying to connect a dvd player. I have connected the scart leads etc.I can not get onto the av channel so i can watch a dvd. Please help

Hi,

Firstly, please make sure you have connected the SCART cable correctly. This should be connected to a SCART OUT socket on the DVD player to one of the SCART IN or EXT sockets on the rear of the TV.

If you have correctly connected the SCART cable the TV should automatically switch to the AV channel when you switch the DVD player power on or insert a disc.

Switch your TV on, then switch the DVD player off and then on again. If the TV does not change to the AV channel you may have the SCART cable connected incorrectly.

Not all TVs automatically switch to the AV channel when the AV device is switched on. On some TVs the AV input is on channel 0 or 99. On other TVs the AV input is not assigned to a specific channel. On these TVs you need to look for a button marked "AV", "INPUT" or "SOURCE" - either on the TV remote or on the buttons on the front of the TV. The easiest way to do this is to insert a disk into the DVD player and start it playing. Then press the "AV" "INPUT" or "SOURCE" button (whichever one you have) repeatedly until you find the signal from the DVD player.

Please check your connections and try using the "AV" "INPUT" or "SOURCE" buttons. If you are still unable to watch your DVD player, please post back with the following information:

1. Model number of the Bush TV
2. Brand and model number of the DVD player
3. If you are using any remote other than the ones supplied with the TV or DVD player, the brand and model number of the remote.

I will then be able to tell you exactly how it should be connected and which buttons (if any) you need to press to access the AV channel.

Hope this helps. Happy New Year!

Regards,
BElectric

NEED MANUAL FOR DVD Model#3119 Product code

on the rear of the dvd you will see a scart socket(large rectangular socket with 21 pin points), plug a scart into that and into one on the rear of the tv, the one on the tv should have an "av" number next to it, select this av input on the tv's remote and turn on the dvd. put in a dvd disc and follow the menu.
in the case of not having a scart on one or both use the red/white/yellow phono connections (any other colour on the tv will be composite inputs-DO NOT USE THESE) if only one has scart and the other r/w/y sockets you can purchase a lead with those connections.

How do I connect a JVC DVD video player model XV-S302SL to a cable box and a TV

There are several ways in which you can do this.

The first way. If your cable box has two scarts one will be label as tv and the other vcr or something similar. connect your Dvd player via scart to the vcr scart on the back of your cable box. then connect a scart from the cable box to the back of the TV.
That would be you all sorted. when you turn your DVD player on this should override your cable and display the dvd screen.

Second way. If your cable box has not got two scart ports on the back of it. Then you would have to connect both to the back of your TV. If there are not two scart ports at the back of your TV then you can purchase a scart lead splitter. I would imagine the Cheapest you could find would be on Ebay or something similar.

Hope this Helped Clarify things for you.
If this has then please leave a thumbs up

What is the TV channel set to to play a dvds151 dvd player?

almost all Dvd players are connected to a television by either a scart or a HDMI lead.

When you plug the scart into the back of your television (make sure its in properly) then turn the power on. on your dvd player.

This should automatically come on as scart leads send a voltage up the scart telling the tv to change to that source/av.

If it is connected via a HDMI cable then if you look at the back of your telly it will tell you what HDMI input number it is. then all you have to do is press the AV/ SOURCE button on your remote to select that number.

Hope this Helps

Your dvd player should be connected to the TV INPUT under norma conditionsl. What kind of recorder are you using? VCR player ?, Is it also a VCR recorder ( one cannot assume because I happened to own a VHS\vcr PLAYER, not player & recorder)Is Your VCR recorder? Then It must be connected to freeview box with universal scart to RCA converter box.You have "" dvd player in av2, vcr av1"" where? TV? freeview box scart connector ?
You will need scart to RCA converter box for sure.
