Question about Lexmark E210 Laser Printer

Paper not feeding

The printer sounds like the roller is running trying to feed the paper and it has done so a few times, but mostly it just sits and runs and then the red light comes on.

Here is the solution, Inside the upright paper tray, on the bottom, there is a little blue "rubber roller", like 2" short, maybe 1.5" in diameter. That blue roller works as a grip, it feeds one sheet of paper to the main roller, which then passes it to other rollers, coronas, transfers, and such. That is the How, in short, Now the Why. That little blue roller wears down over use, like an eraser. It can not grip the paper, unless you fill the paper completely, or try to feed one page at a time, bending the paper to try to get it to grip.
Sometimes That doesn't work because it's worn down so much. Lexmark sells maintenance kits, which include the grip roller along with other replaceable parts. They may sell just that alone, idk.

Also another problem is the metal bar the roller sits on. That metal bar is connected the small gears on both ends. If those gears aren't moving properly, the rubber grip will not engage. A quick fix may be too lube the gears, or there may be something jammed in those gears.

Having a problem with prtinter it's not feeding right keep feeding from right side...tried putting one paperat a time but still not feeding right....PLEASE HELP...

Using high cotton paper causes cotton dust build up making it hard for the rubber rollers to grab the paper. Check inside for paper dust build up. If so, clean rollers with a window cleaner.

Another problem is saving too much money on paper. There are some very thin light weight papers which the printer rollers have a hard time gripping. Most printers do well with 22 lb paper. Otherwise you may need to put a piece of scotch tape under the roller so the machine can grab the thinner paper.

Also check your side paper alignment guide in the tray. As well as making sure your paper is sitting all the way back/down in the tray.

Hello. During printing I often can see error message 13.01.00 - paper jam, but really nothing jammed. I have printer HP LaserJet p3005. Thanks

Your printer has a misfeeding problem.
It never fed any paper so the sensor never sensed paper and thinks that there was a jam.
Try using the manual feed tray. If that works, pull out tray 2 and clean the feed roller . Is this printer
up to date on its maintenance? The feed roller might have to be replaced.

My canon printer/copier does not feed paper in machine. makes all the sound but wont feed. help

1. Try cleaning the paper feed rollers

Instructions how to clean the paper feed rollers.
If the paper feed rollers become dirty, they may not be able to properly feed paper due to the feed roller's slippage.
If paper does not feed correctly, perform the following to clean the paper feed rollers:
  1. Open the Printers folder.

    - For Windows XP Home Edition : Click/Select 'Start,' 'Control Panel,' 'Printers and Other Hardware,' and 'Printers and Faxes.

    - For Windows XP Professional Edition : Click 'Start' and 'Printers and Faxes.'

    - For Windows Vista : Click 'Start,' 'Control Panel,' 'Hardware and Sound,' and 'Printers.'

    - For Windows 2000 : Click/Select 'Start,' and 'Settings,' then 'Printers.'
  2. Right-click the icon of the printer for paper feed roller cleaning, and select 'Properties' from the displayed list.
  3. Click the 'Maintenance' tab and click 'Roller Cleaning'.

Remove all sheets of paper from the rear tray, then click 'OK'.
  4. Confirm the message, and click 'OK'.
Note: Clicking 'OK' will activate the paper feed rollers 30 times. This activation will take about 90 seconds. Do not perform other operations until this operation has finished.
  5. Confirm the message, and click 'OK'.

After the continuous paper feeding operations in step 5 have finished, load three sheets of plain paper and click 'OK'.

  6. Confirm the message, and click 'OK'.

Note: “Feed roller cleaning is completed” message is displayed when the paper is fed and ejected.

    Click 'OK'.
Roller Cleaning is completed.

Printer grabes paper at an angle every time i try to print a page, never has done this before, am using same kind of paper, just keep's going in sidways, thank's rr

Hi,

If printing is skewed, feeding multiple pages or jamming, please follow these instructions (use a regular letter size paper to test after doing the steps given below):
Please check to ensure there is nothing obstructing the paper feed mechanism down inside the printer where it is not easily seen. If there is nothing obvious, unplug the printer and remove the paper. Open the front cover and look above the steel rod. You should see a conveyor belt with rubber teeth on it, like a fan belt. Take the bottom part of that belt and move it gently to the left. The cartridges should come out with it. Make sure the cartridges can move fully from one side of the printer to the other. Check also the output rollers on the bottom of the printer for any blockage. If it is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot. Turn the printer off. Next take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the paper feed slot (The manual paper feed slot is preferred, but the automatic feed will do if there is no manual paper feed for this printer) until it comes completely through the printer to the back of the exit rollers. Move it up and down and slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate this may work it loose or you may have to feed the envelope through the front rollers and push your way backward (please be careful here).
Next, take a damp warm cloth and clean the rubber rollers in the automatic sheet feeder. Dust may be coating the rollers there and as they become less tacky, they cannot feed paper correctly.
Then plug the printer back up, take your paper out and replace it with a fresh, small stack (about 5 pages) of paper. Quickly bend the stack in an 'S' shape a few times to separate pages. Make sure it is lined up on the right side of the paper feed and the paper guide on the left is snug on the left side of the paper. Then try to form feed again. If that works, then try to print the self test page.
Please follow the steps given below to perform the self-test:

1. Power the printer off.
2. Press and hold the "Paper Feed" button.
3. While still holding the "Paper Feed" button, press and release the "Power" button. Continue holding the "Paper Feed" button.
4. When the printer starts pulling paper, release the "Paper Feed" button. It should print a test page at this point.
5. Power the printer off, as this test is continuous.
The self-test should at least print out a set of either a solid black or solid color bars, if not both (if you have a printer with both color and black installed simultaneously). Should this test fail, please try it again without cartridges installed. If the self-test still fails to take paper in and make sounds like the carrier is moving across the paper, this is a hardware issue, and the printer will require service. If the self-test completes without any cartridges installed, run the self-test again with only a color cartridge installed (If you have both black and color cartridges, after this test, run the test again with just the black cartridge installed). If you find that either cartridge causes the self-test to fail, please let me know.

If it still fails to feed the paper correctly, please reply with the following information:
What type and brand of paper were you using?
Have you ever used this type or brand of paper before and if so what were the results?
Once we have this information we will try to fix the unit through email support.

PIXMA MP780: Multiple pages feed together

Most paper feeding in printers is done via rubber rollers. These rollers get dirty and over time, the dirt glazes on to the roller. When this happens, the roller loses its grip. If you look at the rollers they will actually look shiny. After a while the rubber will dry rot and it becomes a more frequent problem. Try the following:

(EASY/LIGHT CLEANING) Get some inkjet cleaning paper at you local office supply. This is usually a thick absorbent paper that you spray with a cleaner and "print" with the wet page.

(MEDIUM) If that fails, unplug the printer and try using rubbing alcohol or ammonia to rub the rollers with a terry cloth. Be sure to rotate the rollers and get them all the way around.

(HARDER/BE CAREFUL) For hard glazed dirt, you may want to carefully use an hobby knife to scrape it off the rollers, being carful not to damage the rollers. Follow up with alcohol cleaning described above.

Mp810 paper feed issue

Normal 0 I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it will feed through the printer. The reason for this is in some cases I have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps. Bud

Paper won't feed

You could try cleaning the rubber feed roller with a slightly damp rag, or even having feed assy replaced but you are right probally better off replacing it.

Won't print

I'd guess that the machine is unable to pick up the paper so goes into jam mode, paper feed roller is worn, needs screwdrivers and parts.

Here is PARTS also needs little japanesse type fingers, gentleness, then a few bits come off from left side, spring, solenoid, and a couple of gears then tray out, 6 screws release base, few more bits and your done.

You should feed ok from bypass tray still and can have a dodgy attempt at fix by wiping paper feed roller(3cm rubber funny shaped roller sits front centre under with tray out) with something to clean it free of paper dust. ie metho, water.
