I would imagine the reason is that the drivers you have, may NOT compatible with Win 7. Win 7 handles Audio and Video completely different from ANY other version of windows.
You MUST get Compatible Drivers, and Software. usually the camera manufacturer issues compatible software to save edit and manipulate the Video & Audio streams.
Ensure you Install the Software, & Driver as Administrator, and also RUN, the software as Administrator, too. Do a fresh install. Also ensure your sound manager is installed for your sound card too.

Always install the most up-to-date drivers.

I find it is easier to use a Video Audio IN USB Dongle. Then the Video can be "Played" on the camera, and "Recorded' on the PC, via a good DVR software. Once recorded in the Format of choice, it can then be edited and manipulated with almost any compatible software.

I have updated the power dvd program and anything else I could think of, this was supposed to be w 7 compatable program.... All I want to be able to do is get these files from the cam to a dvd in dvd format. I cannot believe that updating my computer and getting w7 has stuffed this up! The files are MOD type files from the recorder, not sure if this helps...

Here is a link that has free video and sound codecs, and has helped others with similar problems:
http://www.finalmediaplayer.com/
If this doesn't help, there could be a compatibility, or software issue.

GZ-MG30U JVC camcorder software need

You do not need any software to download the data from your camera. You can view your video files through Windows media player. The camer comes with Cyberlink Power director to view and edit the pictures if you want to make your own movies, but just about any editing software will do.

Lost the disks that came with hybrid everio(JVC) 30gb

You can go to the cybelink website and download a trial copy of the software that came with the camcorder. The software is ; Cyberlink Power Cinema, Power Directer, and Power Producer. The camcorder's format is also recognizable by Mac. Or if you dont want ot eventually buy the new software you can manually change the file extension of you movies off the camcorder to .mpg to view back your video using windows media player. Until you get editing software, you would not be able to edit your movies. Adobe Premier Elements 4 works fine with .mov files and Final cut pro.

Where can i get freeware/shareware copy of power producer 2 gold from please

Power Producer Gold 2 is not a shareware/freeware program; it's a commercial, off-the-shelf product from CyberLink. It is video-editing software and is used for home moviemakers looking for a user-friendly program. PowerProducer 2 is compatible with many movie formats and can double as a digital photo album. It's generally available at around $69.95. It won't add incredible graphics or Hollywood special effects to your movies but it's a reliable and simple system for capturing video, cleaning it up with editing tools, and burning the end product onto CD or DVD.

I don't know if Power Producer 2 Gold is available becaue Power Producer 5 is on the market. You can get more information on buying it at www.gocyberlink.com

Let me know if this helps.

I believe it's available for about $69 from sold by CyberLink

JVC Everio GZ-HD3 Flash Media Camcorder

If you plug in the USB cable from the camera to a Windows XP machine, the Everio disk looks like a USB disk drive, and I can copy the files over using Windows Explorer. In order to convert them to MPG files, we are using Cyberlink PowerDirector5 NE Express, since the camera produces TOD files, which need to be converted to MPG. We are using MAGIX as the video editor after the conversion from TOD to MPG.

Hi, You can only transfer still images (photos) with a USB cable. For video, you need a firewire card and cable. That's the way it works.
